Chapter 12 – The King of Heaven

The Lord wandered through the radiant expanse of Heaven, taking in the serene light and beauty that stretched out before Him. Yet, despite the tranquility, a heaviness weighed on His heart. His children, the angels He had created and nurtured, seemed distant—almost as if they'd lost faith in Him. And worse, He could feel a creeping doubt, like a quiet whisper in the back of His mind, suggesting that perhaps Heaven itself had grown weary in His absence.

He paused, closing His eyes, listening to the prayers of those on Earth. He heard cries for help, pleas for healing, whispered hopes from mothers, fathers, and children. So many of them were desperate, clinging to Him as their last source of strength, and it struck Him deeply. He couldn't help but feel He'd let them down. The world had grown darker in His absence, and though He sent angels to answer prayers and provide comfort, He sensed a void—a disconnect between Himself and His creation.

One by one, He sifted through the prayers, granting peace to grieving parents, healing to the sick, and hope to those lost in despair. He sent angels down to ease the suffering of mortals, each mission a small light in the world's growing darkness. As He listened to the last angel's report, He felt His heart clench with a sense of urgency. The angel's message was grim: Hell was mobilizing an army to strike at Heaven itself.

A surge of determination filled Him as He realized He could no longer remain distant. Heaven needed Him now, more than ever. And His angels—His children—needed to know He was by their side, that He hadn't abandoned them in their hour of need.

Walking faster, He looked around Heaven, noticing the faint changes He hadn't observed before. Angels moved with purpose, a steely resolve in their eyes as they prepared for the coming battle. He felt a sense of pride as He saw them, each angel training, each mission executed with unwavering dedication. His heart swelled at the sight. They were preparing to fight, not just for Heaven, but for Him, and for the world they loved and protected.

He quickened His pace, His flowing robes stirring with divine energy as He headed back to the grand council chamber. He needed to be with His children, to show them He was here, that He would stand with them in the battle to come. He knew that this would be His chance to once again serve as their Father, their protector, and their guide.

As He made His way through the halls of Heaven, a renewed sense of purpose filled Him. The King of Heaven would not stand by while darkness threatened all He had created. He would return to His children, lead them in the fight, and remind them that even in the darkest of times, they were not alone. With each step, His strength grew, and the light of Heaven shone a little brighter, heralding the return of its King, ready to stand by His angels in the battle that lay ahead.
