CHAPTER 4 - It's Time
Trip has been traveling in and out of the country for six months straight. The only time he had gone home was three times in six months and that was for Chase's birthday, Tiffany's birthday, Trevor's birthday and now he is back in New York for his birthday and his parents' anniversary.
When he got home, the place was still the same, just a little dusty. He sighed and then went to his room, unpacked, and decided to take a shower. After freshening up, he went out of his room and looked out into his studio type penthouse in Soho. He looked down from the railings and saw his lovely living room, doors to the balcony, the nice decorations that Megan put up, a wall of pictures - that made him sentimental.
He still missed her even though months have passed.
As he goes down to his living room, he watches TV for time to pass. When he got bored he looked around again and thought he should tidy up the place.
He swept and mopped the floors, wiped the windows and doors, arranged the kitchen, until finally he comes across a box that is labelled "pictures".
He picked it up and found a note that said, "Trip, I hope you don't mind but I let Tiffany bring this box inside because she's the only one who has the spare key to your place. If you do decide to clean up, I got this box for you where you can store some pictures and other things that would remind you of sadness. I love you, see you soon. -Mom."
Trip rolled his eyes and brought the box to his dining table. He looked at the wall of photos and was about to take it down but hesitated.
It was a photo of him and Megan at their high school Prom. He looked at it and laughed at his teenage self.
"Why are you sad?" He asked. "It's the last major school event we'll ever have before graduation." She said with a pout. "Yeah, but I'm sure there will be more great moments like this in the future." He said. "How sure are you?" She asked.
Trip looked into her eyes, "Every time I look into your eyes, I see our future together. Marry you, have kids with you, go to our children's soccer games or ballet recitals, fight with you, grow old with you, everything." He said.
Megan laughs, "Fight with me, huh?" She teased. "And your not just saying this because you want to get it on with me, right?" She asked. Trip laughed, "Yeah I'm not just saying these things because I want to get in your pants... Though it won't hurt to do it with you." He joked and she playfully punched his chest. "I'm sorry." He said while laughing.
"I'm not kidding, Trip." She said in all seriousness. "Megan, I promise I'll love you forever." He said and she smiled when she realized that Trip really meant it.
He slowly put the picture into the box along with a lot of the pictures on the wall. He had to take it down even if it killed him to do it. Then suddenly he came across the picture Martin took of Trip proposing to Megan on the top of the Brooklyn Bridge.
"Megan! Lets go, the copter is waiting for us." Trip yelled. "Wait just two minutes!" Megan shouted. "Oh my god! I told you two hours ago to get ready when I arrive home!" Trip whined. Megan groaned, "Okay! Lets go!" She said angrily.
They go to the helipad and found that Martin was piloting the helicopter. Trip and Megan go inside the helicopter and Martin flies up.
"What're we doing anyways?" Megan asked. "Tour of the city." Trip said. "What for?" Megan asked. "I want you to look outside." He said. She looks outside and sees the sun setting, "So what?" She asked.
Then they hover over the Brooklyn Bridge, the one with the flag. "Oh my god, what're we doing here?!" Megan exclaimed. "Trip, the three guys signaled me that it's safe to go down. Bart here will assist you as you go down the ladder." Martin said.
