CHAPTER 15 - The First Date

From Barcelona to Dubai, now Trip and his crew were flying back to New York. And since then, both Trip and Amelia haven't told their crew yet that they're dating. They've kept their secret on the down low for now and feel as if they're not ready to tell anyone yet and still testing the waters.

But they do keep on stealing kisses every once in a while if the crew isn't watching or sneaking out to make out. They also downplay their closeness whenever they're with the crew.

"So, have you bought a ring yet?" Trip asked while checking the status of the plane. "Uhm, not yet. But I'm torn between De Beers and Cartier. What do you think?" Martin asked. "Hmmm, the ring I got for Megan was De Beers. Beck and Connor got their custom made rings from De Beers as well." Trip replied.

"So what're you trying to say?" Martin asked. "I'm saying that it's really all up to you to choose what ring you want to see on Jess' finger." Trip replied. "Because for me, De Beers won't disappoint as it is both elegant and timeless." He added. Martin nods and takes note about what Trip is saying.

"Man, I've been thinking about it lately and it makes me so nervous." Martin said. "Like what if she says no? What if I hurt her again?" He asked. "Dude don't think about the negative things. Think of the possibilities ahead for the two of you." Trip replied. Then Trip pats Martin's back, "Don't worry about it, you'll be great." Trip replied. "Thanks for the support, man." Martin said and smiled at Trip.

After everyone had their dinner and the passengers were fast asleep now, Trip excused himself and went to go to the back hoping to talk to Amelia.

Trip looks around to see if Phoebe or Elaine or Tracy were around and thankfully they weren't. Then he taps Amelia's shoulder and she's surprised when he saw Trip, "Hey, do you have any plans for the weekend?" He asked. "Oh I was planning to stay at home and relax while I'm here. Bake some sweets and later on eat them while I watch sappy romantic comedy movies." She said in a joking way. "Oh wow, sounds like you have a big exciting weekend ahead of you." He joked. She shrugged her shoulders, "I do." She said with a laugh.

Trip smiled, "Or you could go on a date with me?" He asked. Amelia looks him in the eye and chuckled, "Is Captain Trip McAllister asking me out on an official first date?!" She joked. Trip goes closer, "Oh, you bet I am." He whispered to her then kissed her cheek. She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around his neck, "Well if you really want to take me out, I guess I could make an exception." She joked and made Trip chuckle. "I can't wait." He said and they kiss.

Trip goes back to the cockpit and saw Martin write down something. "What's that your writing there?" Trip asked. "I'm just writing down stuff to say for when I propose." Martin replied. "Awe man, don't think about it too much. But always speak from the heart." Trip said.

"Because you can't really write all the things you want to say to her. And because when you're in the moment, the things that you really want to say to her like how much she means to you, will flow out of you naturally. This is a long time comin' man, you and Jess have been through so much together." He continued.

Martin nodded, "Yeah, you're right. But you know, I just wanna make sure I won't forget. I really wanna show her that I'm in it for the long haul, Trip. I'm ready to get married to Jess." He said. Trip smiles, "Well, good luck to you, Martin. I hope she says yes." He replied.

Then Martin changes the topic, "What about you? How are things with Amelia?" He asked with a laugh. "Like you never told me anything after your day with her in Barcelona. Like what's up with you two?" He asked. Trip acts coy and doesn't answer him. "Trip, I'm talking to you, man!" Martin calls Trip's attention and he looks at Martin weird.
