CHAPTER 17 - Serious Business

After the charity event, Trip and Amelia have been hot and heavy lately. Ever since they publicly debuted as a couple, these two crazy kids have been going on a lot of dates and sleeping over each other's places, if you know what I mean. But they both still kept it professional as they still worked in the same crew, though everyone kept teasing them.

After about a few weeks of getting back to work, Trip and his crew were slated to be in New York for a bit which was very convenient for the two of them as they needed a break to figure out things.

As Trip woke up, he noticed that it was such a beautiful day. As usual he texts with Amelia while making himself a healthy breakfast smoothie. Then while texting a reminder pops up, "Dinner with family and Amelia tonight!" Which he forgot about and haven't even made any reservations. "Oh shit!" He reacted. While he opened his laptop and started searching for restaurants someone knocks on his door.

He goes to open it only to find Tiffany standing there sipping from her coffee cup. "You look like you're in trouble." She greets him as she sees the flustered look on Trip's face. Then they go inside his penthouse apartment, "What're you doing here?" Trip asked. "I stashed some of my weed here and I'm planning to take it back." Tiffany said. "You've got to be kidding!" Trip said with annoyance apparent on his tone. Tiffany started laughing, "That's not funny!" He said and goes back to searching.

"What're you really doing here?" He asked. "I'm here to ask if that dinner thing you told us about is pushing through because I need to cancel my date with Nick." She replied. "You know it's all mom's been talking about." She added. "Really?" He asked. Then she sees what he's up to and saw that he was searching for restaurants, "Ha! I knew you didn't have reservations for tonight. Trevor owes me a hundred dollars." She said excitedly. Trip rubs his temples, "Yeah I forgot to make reservations because I haven't had the time to just sit down and catch my breath." He replied. "Okay yeah, keep telling yourself that, Trip." She replied and laughs. "Not helping." He said.

"Just call up Bradley and ask him." Tiffany suggested. "Fuck why didn't I think of that?!" Trip said and kissed his sister's forehead and called Bradley. "Buddy!" Trip said into the phone. "What do you want?" Bradley asked. "I need a favor." Trip said. "What is it?" Bradley asked. "Can you squeeze me in the reservations list in one of your restaurants?" Trip asked. "Which one?" Bradley asked. "Kobegyu?" Trip said unsure. "Who are you eating with?" Bradley asked. "My family." Trip replied. "Okay, I'll reserve the private room with a private chef and the perfect view of the high line for you. To be clear this Kobegyu branch is in the Meatpacking District." Bradley said. "Oh my god thank you!" Trip replied. "Just say your name and they'll lead you inside." Bradley said. "Ok gotta go." He added. "Thanks B! I owe you one." Trip replied and they both dropped the call. "Now was that too hard to do?" Tiffany asked. Trip laughs, "Shut up!" He said. "When you get home, tell mom, dad and Trevor we're eating at the Kobegyu branch in the Meatpacking District." He added. "Okay, Captain Bossy Pants." She replied and they just hang out for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile before the dinner, Amelia was hanging out with her friend Elise at her apartment. "By the way I ordered some pizza for us if that's fine?" Elise said. "Oh I have that dinner with Trip's family, but a slice won't hurt so sure." Amelia replied. "So I heard you and the pilot are official?" Elise comments. "I guess you can say that, yeah." Amelia replied. "Don't try to downplay it! I'm so happy for you!" Elise said excitedly. Amelia laughs and then goes to get her mail.

When she gets back to join Elise, Amelia sees an invitation, "Oh look a wedding invitation." She tells Elise. "Wait!" Elise said. "Everyone seems to be getting married these days." Amelia comments. "Don't open it!" Elise raised her voice. "Why?!" Amelia asked. "Just don't!" Elise said. "Now I'm curious." Amelia replied.
