Chapter 23

It's been two months now since the accident. I'm not going to lie, I still have my days where I break down. But I've not shut myself down from continuing on with my daily normal life. I went back to work two weeks ago. And everyone has been really supportive and help keep my head up. And Ian, he's still my biggest help.

We're leaving today on our trip to get away for awhile. And I can't wait for it to be just us two, for two weeks.

"I got our bags in the car babe, is everything turned off in the house? My sister said they were an hour or so away still and I told her we needed to get to the airport." Ian sits down on the bed.

"Yeah I checked. Twice." I smile.

"Did you tell her where we put the key?" I ask. I walk over and stand between his legs, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Yep. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get going." He kisses my neck and I smile.

"Well let's go." I pull him up off the bed and we head out of the house.

"What did you and Candice do yesterday? I never asked you when you got home." Ian pulls into the airport garage and we pay for our parking.

"We took Ellie Kate and Hudson to the park. Although Hudson just slept the entire time. And we went for lunch and just talked about what we planned on doing on our trip." I tell him as he grabs our luggage from the trunk.

"Doesn't Hudson always sleep?" He smirks. I grab my suitcase and we start walking.

Candice had the new baby about three weeks ago and she is another Ellie Kate. So cute and so tiny.

"She's a baby, what do you expect? They're like cats. Our cats sleep all day and night." I nudge his shoulder.

"That they do." We walk into the airport and go check in to get our boarding pass and check our luggage.

"I'm going to try and sleep on this flight." I yawn and lay my head on Ian's shoulder.

"Well that sucks cause I'm not even tired, and I didn't bring a book." He complains and I laugh. I sit back up and reach under the seat in front of me and grab the iPad.

"Here. I bought two movies and there's a few books on there. Read or watch something. Get on Netflix." I sit it on his lap.

"You're a life saver." He kisses my temple.

"That's what I'm here for." I wink and snuggle back into his chest. The plane takes off and soon we are flying through sky. And I'm sound asleep.

"Wow! I can't believe we are here Ian!" I look out the window in the car as our driver drives us to our resort.

"It is beautiful." He reaches for my hand. I'm in awe of how clear the water is. And the beautiful flowers.

"First time in Bali?" The driver asks.

"Yes it is. And I'm already in love." I say to him and he smiles.

"It is beautiful. I hope you enjoy your stay here." He tells us. He pulls up to the resort and helps us with our luggage.

Once we check in and sign papers, a guy leads us to our villa out over the water. Ian didn't tell me about this.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me you got us a villa! Why didn't you tell me!" I wrap my arms around his neck in excitement and watch him smile.

"For this reason. I wanted to see your reaction." He kisses me and I smile against his lips.

"Thank you Ian." I kiss him again.

"We are going to have the best time here." He says. He kicks his shoes off and lays back on the bed. I walk to the window and look out at the sea. I can't believe I'm sleeping over it.
