Chapter 25

"Hi babe." I say to Ian when he gets inside the car. I'm picking him up from work so he can ride with me to the doctor appointment for the baby. Today we find out the gender. I'm 17 weeks and as much as id love to not know the sex of the baby until I have it, Ian talked me into knowing. And Candice tried talking me out but Ian won this time.

"Hi beautiful." Ian leans over and kisses before sitting back in his seat and buckling his seat belt. He grabs my hand and holds it as I drive.

"How's work going?" I ask.

"Pretty good. I've been checking emails and stuff. What about you?" He lifts our hands and kisses the top of mine.

"Colleen gave me another copy to read over of her new book. So I'll be doing that after the doctors. And I'm meeting with my new client tomorrow." I say.

"Who's the new client?" He asks.

"I'm not sure, Karen said it will be a surprise and I'll be happy with it. So I'm trusting her on this." I smile.

"Well whoever it is, I'm sure you will like them just like you do with the other clients." Ian says and moves his hand to my thigh.

I pull into the parking lot a few minutes later and Ian comes around to open the door for me.

"I can open my own door babe." I take his hand as he helps me out.

"I like doing little things for you." He kisses my cheek and I smile.

After I sign in and we sit down, the nurse comes out shortly to bring me back.

"Are you excited?" The nurse asks as I lay back and pull my shirt up.

"Very. I couldn't sleep at all last night." I say and Ian grabs my hand.

"What do you guys think it is?" She asks.

"I think it's a girl." Ian says.

"Me too." I add. She moves the wand over my belly and tells me to be still for a few seconds.

"Lets see here." She says looking at the screen.

"Okay Nina, Ian..right there. What do you see?" She points to the screen and I study it.

"Is that.." Ian looks at it more.

"A boy!" I say happily.

"That's a boy. Congratulations!" The nurse smiles.

"Oh my god!" Ian leans down and kisses me and looks back at the screen.

"I'll go make a copy of this and I'll be back with it shortly." The nurse smiles as she leaves the room. I wipe my belly off and pull my shirt back down.

"I'm going to have a son. We are going to have a son." Ian wraps his arms around me.

"Ian I'm so happy." I kiss his neck.

"I am too, oh my god Nina. A little boy." The smile on his face is my favorite thing in the world. I run my finger over his lips and smile before kissing him again.

"We have to call our parents as soon as we're both home tonight." He says and I nod in agreement. I want to tell them together. They're going to flip and I can't wait to see their reactions.
