You fell, the wind rushing past your face.
Yeah, this was a good way to die. Dramatic, but not overkill. Down the forbidden mountain you went.

They said that anyone headed to the mountain would never return. So, for your own reasons, you left the comfort of your shack and took the three day journey to see what you would.

You were not disappointed.

The black abyss welcomed you with arms that promised a new start.
You could begin anew.
You had a reset.

But when you hit the ground completely unharmed, you began to suspect foul play. (You started looking for birds, but soon found out there weren't any.)

There was only darkness and what must have been the remains of civilization. An empty tent here, a broken chair there. Things that would've been thrown out when moving.

You followed the trail of litter until it was too dark to see. Then, you saw a light. You started following it, but the closer you got, the farther away it seemed to be. Out of frustration, you called out to it.

"Hey! Stop!"

To your sheer amazement, it did.  When you finally caught up, you were facing a monster made completely from fire. He was wearing a suit and glasses; you could not see his facial features.

"He-hello."

The fireman did not respond.

"My name is (y/n)."

The fireman seemed to consider this, then nodded. "Grillby."

"Your name?" He nodded. Grillby didn't seem much for talking.

"Village. Come." Grillby started walking again. You debated following him, as you didn't know who he was. But he was the first monster you had met down here, and you didn't want to be alone. So, naturally, it was off to an unknown village you went.
