The next morning, you woke up from your odd dream and looked around for Chara. He was on the floor, sleeping wrapped up in a blanket, like he used to when you were taught by the guard together.
You hadn't said anything about Chara to Grillby. What could you say?
You knew why he was here. He had to help you with your job.
Killing all the monsters.
But you didn't want to do that anymore. Everyone was too kind.
But Chara wouldn't care. He was single minded, and would be crazy about a task until it was complete.
You had no choice.
You had to take him to the King and Queen.
"Chara. Wake up," you muttered, kicking him lightly with your foot.
Gaster wasn't too pleased about the extra mouth to feed, but slowly warmed up to Chara. Bad move.
The boys wanted you to tell them anything about Chara. You said no. This was a complicated issue, and you really didn't want them getting mixed up in it.
Besides, if everything went to plan, all the Underground would be dead.
You didn't want this.
You didn't want monsters to die.
But you didn't see what you could do.
"Chara, come on. I'm taking you to see the King and Queen today."
Almost immediately, he jumped from his blanket burrito on the ground.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go!" He grinned evilly.
It made you sad.
"For you to put on some decent clothes! It is the King and Queen, you know!" You acted as if nothing was wrong. Maybe if you had done something different...
But you felt as if you had tried changing this before. You weren't sure then, but you know why now.
It was because you had.
Everything was still the same.
Chara expelled you from the room, and you fell out of the door into the waiting arms of your brothers.
"GOOD MORNING, (Y/N)!"
"morning, sis. gaster made breakfast, and it seems edible. we'll wait for chara to finish, but it's ready now."
You nodded. "Got it."
"IT SMELLS SO GOOD! NYEHEHEHE!!"
You laughed with Papyrus, but felt no joy.
You don't want Sans and Papyrus - your family - to die.
