Jamie pulled into her parking spot a her apartment. She looked around and thought it sure would be nicer to have a big beautiful house with plenty of room for Chester to roam around in. So she promised herself to do something about the lottery ticket tomorrow. Jamie fumbled with the bags and keys. Chester ran inside when she opened the door. He went straight to his water bowl. Jamie sat everything on the kitchen table.

"I've got a date to night with Brian," she said to Chester.

He looked at her and meowed.

"I know we don't even know him that well but he very polite and funny," Jamie said.

Chester pushed his empty cat food bowl toward Jamie.

"Okay I'll feed you now but there may be a Kitty bag later on this evening for you," she said.

She fed Chester and worked on the new features on her time machine. Jamie took apart several old electronic watches that she had collected over the years. The cute girly watches were to small so she settled on a black leather wrist band. She made the techeon funnel look like a piece of jewelry attached to the watch then Jamie connected the three digital read outs to a small key pad. Next she clipped in the batteries in series to get the most power.

Jamie turned it on. She held her wrist band out as she punched in the coordinates and time. She vanished and appeared in the ladies bathroom at the university the day she was let go. Jamie hid in one of the stalls as she seen herself wadding up a paper towel then missing the trash can. She entered the reverse coordinates and appeared back in her kitchen. She hurried as she put together a second time machine. The two looked identical. She cleaned up the whole house just in case they came over here after dinner. She showered and dressed then drove to Bobby's.

Brian was waiting in the parking lot for her. He opened her door for her.

"Thanks Brian. Have you been waiting long?" she asked.

"Just a couple of minutes," he answered with a smile.

He held the door for her as they walked inside. The hostess quickly seated them and left them with menus. Jamie looked hers over then decided that she wanted a salad with steak. Brian had decided on steak and fries. They talked before the order came.

"I was wondering why were you in the store in the middle of the day?" Brian asked.

"Well. A few days ago I was let go from my job at the university because we lost our grant money," Jamie said.

"That's terrible. What are you going to do now?" Brian asked.

"I have money in my savings account," she answered.

The waitress brought them their dinner and poured them each a glass of wine.

"I have a wonderful idea. You can come and work for me," Brian said.

Jamie looked at Brian but said nothing because her mouth was full of salad.
