The sunshine shone through her kitchens butterfly curtains. Jamie opened the refrigerator to get a cold bottle of water. She shared half of it with Chester in his water bowl. She sat at the table waiting on the coffee to finish perking so she could have a cup and clear out the cobwebs. She thought I don't mind waiting on the coffee but two weeks is to long to wait to begin my adventure.
"Chester would you like to begin our adventure today?" Jamie asked.
He tilted his head and meowed.
"That sounds like a yes to me. Well we have to prepare the apartment before we leave, " Jamie said.
Chester watched her as she put somethings from the refrigerator to the freezer and took the trash out. Jamie checked and made sure all the bills were payed. She unplug all the electrical appliances except for the refrigerator and locked the front door. Next Jamie picked up Chester and clocked her watch for two weeks ahead in time and at the same spot. They vanished and appeared two weeks later in the front room. Chester jumped down and inspected the apartment.
Jamie unlocked the door and went to get her mail. All of it was crammed tightly into her small locked mailbox. She brought it all back to the apartment and placed it on the kitchen table. There it was, a letter from Ray her lawyer. She opened it quickly. It was everything she wanted, a job as a CEO and a plastic card with three million dollars on it. There also was a thank you note from Ray that said if she ever needed his help again to please call. She smiled.
A second cup of coffee sound good she thought but when she went to the coffee pot there was mold growing on the two week old coffee. After washing out the pot she made a fresh pot of hazelnut coffee to celebrate and to plan what was next. After a few sips she found a piece of paper and pencil.
"Let's see what do I need and then what would I like," she said as she looked at Chester.
The list read beach house, new car, and a boyfriend. Jamie giggled when she wrote boyfriend because she only had one and that was in college, well that was until she found him cheating on her.
