Alec dashes back down the stairs, stumbling some due to his weariness as he runs out into the cool night wind. He doesn't stop running until he has reached the shoreline, where he was sure she would be. True to his instincts, a beautiful young woman's feet touch the earth just as he reaches the spot.

Alec stands there, his ragged breaths the only sound to be heard. Alana stands, tall and graceful, waiting for him to catch his breath. She finds that what she would have once called his human flaws are what she is most grateful to see once again.

When Alec's breathing becomes normal, he stands up straight, taller then Alana, and stares into her eyes with a bitter intensity.

"Hello Alana," Alec says, a sharp, icy edge to his voice.

"Hello Alec," Alana says, equally indifferent in tone.

The two stand in absolute silence, neither wanting to be the first to admit their weakness. A sudden clap of thunder shakes the air violently, and rain begins to fall, enveloping the two in their own, familiar world once again.

Tears of longing and sorrow begin to fall from Alana's eyes, mixing with the rain that drenched her from head to toe. Soon, Alec is holding her in his arms, unable to keep himself from comforting the woman that so dearly held his heart.

Alana's face crumples as her crying intensifies, the storm raging around them equally as furious.

Alec runs his fingers through her hair, as he had done so long ago, and felt his own sorrow growing with each sob that escaped the perfect woman in his arms.

Alec whispers, "Don't cry beautiful angel, you're home now."

Alec did not bother to ask what had brought her back to him, nor did he ask her if she was to stay.

He simply held her tightly in his arms, reveling in the return of his love as they stand in the rain and drown the angel's cries in claps of thunder.
