Heira was moving around the kitchen quickly, the many dishes she was stirring and testing in her flurry of cooking baffling Alana, who had never cooked before.

The relationship between Alana and Heira had changed drastically the night before, to the bafflement of Alec and joy of Alana, who seemed to have forgotten her fear of the woman from their first encounter.

"Now Alana dear," Heira says, placing a plate of food before both Alec and Alana, "you said that there where some things that need explaining?"

"Yes ma'm," Alana smiles at the woman, despite the topic she would have to present "There are some things that both you and Alec need to know."

"Alright then, you have our attention," Alec is surprised when Heira says this, knowing the woman as very self- important and harsh.

Alana nods, gathering her thoughts before saying, "As you can see, I am not a mere human." One of Alana's wings extends partially, glimmering in the candle lights. Heira nods, curiosity and wonder burning deep in her eyes.

"I am what you would call an Angel. We call ourselves Seraph." Heira was taking this information surprisingly well. Alec was keeping a close eye on her, sure that at some point she would revert to the personality he had grown to know.

"I had fallen, condemned to live without my wings on Earth," Heira's face transforms to a look of sympathy at these words, "When I fell was the night I showed up here, in your home."

"And the gashes where were your wings where..." Alana nods, confirming Heira's statement.

"Your son here, Alec," Alana looks to him with a smile, "made these wings for me in the months that followed."

Heira then said what they all knew, but had refused to say, "And fell in love."

A tense silence envelops the small group, neither Alec nor Alana wanting to confirm it due to their painful separation from the years before.

"Why do you return, then?" Heira asks, a protectiveness for Alec growing in her.

Alana takes a pained breath, "Because you all are in danger."
