With a curious glance over her shoulder at Alec, Alana takes a deep breath and heads for the door, prepared for the worst by his description.

What she found was far from the worst. As Alana pulls the door open and steps out into the strange, crystallized wonderland, Dalfon lets out an almost childish laugh and runs past her, crowing joyously.

Alana's wide, wonder- filled eyes watch as flake after flake of pure, white, cold beauty falls gracefully from the sky, where pillowy, soft clouds drifted.

Dalfon's laughter echos around her, seeming to bounce off of every surface and mixing with a charming, feminine version of the very same laughter.

Alana takes slow, deliberate steps across the blanketed Earth, her gaze fluttering from a single snowflake to a beautifully dusted branch, in a wonder land of the purest beauty.

Alana watches as a swirl of snow spirals around playfully, as if the very flakes themselves where chasing one-another through the air. She finds herself transfixed, watching the miniature flurry as it gathers and forms a beautiful young girl.

Alana shrinks down to the girl's height by bending her knees down to a crouch, holding a hand palm up out to her, "Hello there."

The girl smiles, laying her hand on Alana's.

"She is quite something, isn't she?" Dalfon says, having joined the two while Alana was entranced.

"She is," Alana's eyes sparkle with wonder.

"What is her name?" Alana asks Dalfon.

Alana's breath is taken away when the girl speaks, her voice a chilling, cold sort of melody, "My name is Quilo."

Dalfon chuckles at Alana's awe-filled expression, as she asks, "How do you know English, pretty little girl?"

Quilo giggles at the compliment, "Cuz I'm a Guardian."

Alana feels a rush of sympathy for the girl, pulling her into a surprising embrace.

Quilo gives Alana a small smile when she pulls back from the hug, "You don't understand, Alana. I chose to become a Guardian."

Alana finds herself once again captivated by the girl, this time by the pure innocence and selflessness of the young Seraph. "You are wiser than any other Seraph I know, Quilo."

The girl simply smiles wider, understanding the meaning behind her words.

"Now c'mon snowflake," Dalfon says to the girl, causing her to huff and protest the nick name.

Alana shakes her head, still in wonder of the child.
