"Oh my God," I gasped, pulling off my mask. My face was red from blushing so much and from having to run back to the van.

"Who were you dancing with?" Bax asked, taking off her mask. She started the car and busted it out of the parking lot. "I mean, it looked like that you two were cozy-"

"It was Dean!" I gasped out, clutching my armrest. "Do not give me that shock look. Keep your eyes on the road, bitch!"

Bax laughed. "You need to be fine with my driving. I mean, you are usually in the car with-"

"No, I am not," I replied, interrupting her. "And I chose a song and he sweet talked me into a dance with him. I don't think he recognized that it was me because of the mask and how my hair is." I started to undo my hair, hating the fact that I would have to wait to take a shower. "But, I dropped my IPod, so I think he's going to try to find me."

Bax glanced at me before busting out laughing. "Gosh, this is turning out just like Another Cinderella Story."

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Please don't say that," I groaned. "I don't want your van break down like it did in the movie."

The van started to slow down a bit. "Well.... it's not going to be breaking down..." She looked at me sheepishly when I turned to look at her, raising an eyebrow. "I ran out of gas." With that, she pulled the car to the side of the road and it stopped.

I leaned my head on the back of the seat and groaned. "All right. Go call someone to get gas for your car. I'm going to call Patches." I opened the door. "Hopefully she has been sent out."

"Good luck," Bax called while I hopped out of the car and closed the door. She rolled down the window. "Call me tomorrow with the details on dancing with Dean."

I shook my head while running/slipping to the grassy area, clutching my skirt in my hands. That was the last thing on my mind. I needed to get back home and soon.

I whistled for Patches and heard the familiar whinnying of her. A grin appeared on my face while I ran forward, seeing the white hair of my horse. "Thank goodness that you are out here," I said when she pulled to a stop before me. I let go of my skirt and hopped onto her back and dug my heels into her sides. "Come on, we need to get home and fast."

Patches reared a bit before plowing towards our house. She flicked her ears toward me, waiting for signals, but she kept moving forward, jumping over fences that were in her way.

I couldn't help but laugh a bit with her running as fast as she could, loving the sense of freedom that I got when I rode her. Goosebumps danced up and down my arms from the cool wind running over me, but my legs were warm because of her body heat. My hair went everywhere, mostly in my face, but I didn't care.

All I cared about was getting home before my step mother and enjoying the freedom that I felt for a moment.

I pulled her a halt at her stall door, glad that Red had opened it. I hopped off and took the coat that Reece had offered me. We knew that Delilah was going to try and find me, and we had planned me to be in the barn grooming Patches. I placed it on while Patches went into her stall.

"So, did you have fun?" Reece asked. He checked his wrist, as if he had a watch on his arm. "You are almost late."

I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Shut up," I grumlbed. I walked into the stall and grabbed the curry comb before starting to groom the mare. "Now, leave. She'll almost be here soon, and you need to be in bed."

"I want the details tomorrow," Reece said. He tocuehd his hat before he and Red walked back to the bunkhouse.

I rolled my eyes. "You sound like a girl," I muttered. I didn't have long to wait for an "Ella" to be called. I sighed. "Here!" I called, hoping that she wouldn't ask why I was wearing makeup and why my hair was a mess.

"Why are you wearing makeup?" Delilah asked, slurring over her words. "I didn't almost recognize you."

I shrugged. "ANn wanted to do my make up and make me feel pretty."

"Darling, you are beautiful," Delilah said. She scoffed and leaned on the stall door, while I watched her in shock. "I wish my children were like that as well." She probably caught my shocked look by standing up. "What do I know? I'm drunk. I'm going to bed. I hope everything is done." She wobbled towards the house, tripping over her heels."

I sighed and finished brushing Patches before sitting down in the stall. "Damn," I muttered, thinking of Dean almost kissing me. "What a night."
