I groaned when someone started to beat me with a pillow and buried deeper into my covers. Another groan came out of my mouth when I felt the covers get pulled from me by the person that started to beat me with a pillow.

"Wake up, Ella. I know you can't sleep in the cold," an annoying voice said, causing me to groan. "I will pour some cold water on you, again."

I opened my eyes to see Bax staring at me. "What time is it?" I asked, sitting up, sleepily. I rubbed my eyes and frowned when I saw that it was four in the morning. "What the hell, Bax?" I asked, glaring at her.

"Come on. We have to go now. Breakfast is ready." She turned to leave.

"And why do we have to go?" I asked. "Where are we going?"

Bax paused and looked at me with a smirk on her face. "It's a secret," she replied before leaving. "You better not go back to bed. I'll use extra cold water this time," she stated causing me to groan. She laughed at my misery, and I couldn't help but wonder as to how I could get back at her.

I laid back on the bed and groaning before getting off of my lazy ass and started to get ready. Let's just hope nothing bad was going to happen. Knowing Bax, something could happen.

I frowned when I saw the familiar face of Carter in Bax's van after I had gotten in. "What are you doing here?" I asked with disgust.

"To talk," he replied.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes before going to open the door. "I do not want to hear what you have to say, so I am going to go now."

"Deandidn'tcheatonyou," Carter rushed out, causing me to pause.

I turned to look at him and narrowed my eyes. "What?" I asked a warning in my voice.

"Dean. Didn't. Cheat. On. You," Carter stressed.

"Then what do you call your boyfriend kissing another girl?" I asked. I glared at Bax as she started to drive the van, knowing full well that I couldn't get out now.

Carter cleared his throat, gaining my attention. He was holding up one finger, which was pretty weird. "One, I am not gay. Stop saying that I am." He held up another finger. "Two, Dean loves you too much to cheat on you. What you saw was a misunderstanding." He held up his hand, stopping me from speaking before holding up another finger. "Three, your sister, Clarice, paid the redhead to pull Dean and kiss him at the lockers. I think she, also, wrote the letter."

"But it looks like his handwriting," I said, warily.

"Don't worry, we believe that too," Carter assured me. "It's not his, however. He doesn't do surprises either, because he knows how much you hate them."

"But the rose..."

"Everyone knows that Dean gives you red roses," Bax chimed in. "And you should've seen how distraught he was when he tried to catch you but you left yesterday."

I sighed and moved a hand through my hair. "What if we don't work out?" I asked. Doubts danced in my brain, and I couldn't help but hate how scared I felt of getting attached and him leaving me.

"I think that you two will work out. You both have that fairytale love that people try to find," Carter replied. "Besides, he goes out of his way just to make you happy."

"Speaking of which, you should open the box in the back and get dressed," Bax added.

I frowned and looked in the back. Sure enough, there was a box that had my name on it. "What is in it?" I asked, pulling it up front. I huffed when there was no reply and opened it to see that it was my mother's silks when she did horse races.
