"Wait, are you telling me that there are secret passageways in this house," Derrin asked, interrupting the older female. His eyes were wide with awe, making the older female laugh and nodded her head. He had wanted to know, but his mother had shot him a look, making the younger brother close his mouth. However, his curiosity had won, so he had finally interrupted the grandmother.
"Yes, there are secret passageways in this house," the older female said, laughing again. She nodded towards a picture that was hanging on the wall at the foot of the bed.. "Mind moving that so that the picture on it's side?" she asked before shaking her head and clicking her tongue in a 'tsk' fashion. "I keep telling Jacob to have on it's side, but he doesn't listen."
"Yes, Ma'am," the young boy said, nodding his head. Derrin hopped off the bed and turned the photo on it's side. A small yelp of surprise came from him while he jumped back when the wall close to it, opened, revealing a dark passageway. He glanced at it and then looked at his grandmother, who was smiling. "So, where does this lead?" he asked, very curious about this new thing.
The grandmother shrugged her shoulder, indicating that she didn't really know. "It leads to the other places," she replied. "They all intertwine with each other. Now, can you be a dear and close it again? You just put the picture back straight."
Derrin nodded his head and placed the picture back. He went back to his grandmother and cocked his head, hopping onto the bed. This in turn, made his mother tsk at him. "So what happens next? When do you meet your "Prince Charming", again?"
The grandmother laughed, amused that her grandson had asked that question and not her granddaughter. She glanced at her granddaughter, who was watching her with big eyes, hanging onto every word, before glancing back at her grandson. "Not until school, but I am not there just yet."
"Well then, continue please," Derrin replied. He squirmed in his seat, wanting to know what had happened to her when she was younger.
Ella smiled and nodded her head. "Of course."

I watched as Anna climbed the rest of the down before closing the trap door, pushing the button. I took the lamp off of the pulley before going towards the house. "Well, come a long then. We don't have much time. Also, stay close. You don't want to get lost."
Anna caught up to me and glanced around. "How do you know where everything leads?" she asked. "And, how will you know where my room is?"
"Same as I did two nights ago," I replied, glancing at her. I turned my head forward again. "I have basically played in all the secret passageways. It's fun going somewhere and not having to worry about bumping into a family member that hates your guts." There was a bit of anger in my voice that Anna caught on.
With a sigh, she looked down. "I'm really sorry about the way that I had treated you," she said, her voice filled with sincerity. "Do you think you could ever forgive me?" There was a bit of begging in her voice, which surprised me.
I turned to look at her again, smirking. "You are down here are you not? I am giving you one last chance. If you mess up again, then I will show you how mean I can get."
Anna nodded her head, grinning. "Of course," she said, sighing with relief. She glanced around when I blew out the candle and placed it at its place, before I reached up and pushed a piece of the ceiling away. She stayed silent while I had stuck my head through the ceiling and glanced around. "Well?" she asked with a whisper.
I glanced around, not seeing anyone. However, I knew that the time might be short, since Delilah might be trying to find me. "We are safe." With that I scrambled up before holding out my hand. "Come on, we don't have much time."
Anna grabbed my hand, and I pulled her up and out of that passageway. "I didn't realize that we got so high up," she muttered.
I smirked a little before setting the piece of the floor back into it's rightful place and putting the rug over it. "Well, that's because you kept up with me, and you weren't used to it. Come on then." I walked to a part of the wall and pushed on it, making another passageway open. "Now, I need you to be very silent. I'll take you to the part in your bathroom."
Anna nodded her head silently. "Where are we though?" she asked, curiously looking around. "In the basement?"
"Yep," I replied, popping the 'p'. "Now, come on." I walked through the opening in the wall followed by Anna. "Push on the wall will you?"
Anna nodded her head and did what I had said before following me towards the place in her bathroom. She stayed silent and looked around in awe, probably not knowing that this place was here.
After a few minutes later, I pushed on another part of the wall and moved aside, showing her her bathroom. "You are in your bathroom," I said in a whisper. "Good luck."
Anna nodded her head in thanks and stepped out before I closed the passageway and left. "I must be dreaming," I heard her say, making me chuckle.
Oh, she wished she was dreaming. I was sure of that. I shook my head and left, going the way that I had came, wanting to make sure that everything was done before I got ready to school.
Yes my body still ached, but I was used to feeling so much pain by now and having to work through. The pain was dull, which I was grateful for, knowing that it would go away in a week or so. A frown appeared on my face. I just hoped that I wouldn't get beaten again.
