Chapter 7 : Alondria

"Alondria!" I heard Qui-gon call my name.

"Yes master?"

"I have just learned that Anakins midichlorian count is 20,000." He told me in a raised whisper

My eyes widened in amazement, "20,000?! Not even master Yoda has a count that high I didn't think!" I said incredulously

"I know. Now there's something I need you to do." He continued, "I need a blood sample from Briste. And I feel she will only trust you."

I crossed my arms. "How am I supposed to get her to let me take one master?" I asked

"I'm not sure, perhaps telling her the truth? Just try and get one as soon as you can and send it to Obi-wan." Qui-Gon answered before entering the house.

I exhaled. And turned to look out on the landscape.

I turned when I felt a presence join me.

"It's nothing much to look at, why are you staring?" Briste asked stepping next to me.

I smiled, "what else am I going to look at?"

I thought for a moment before speaking, "hey Briste, has anyone ever checked your blood for infections?" I asked pulling out a Comlink chip.

She looked at me for a moment, "I heard you and Qui-gon talking, I don't know what midichloriand are, but I want to know."

I raised my eyebrow at her, "it's not very polite to evesdrop. But I don't blame you, I always got in trouble for evesdropping, I still do." I said with a smile, "Anyways, midichlorians are microscopic life forms that reside in all living cells."

"So They live inside of me?" She asked

"Kind of yeah... and we are symbionts or life forms living together with mutual advantage with them.

She had a puzzled look on her face.

"Without the midi-chlorians, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to us, telling us the will of the Force. When you learn to quiet your mind, you will hear them speaking to you. Just like when I heard them telling me to find you." I told her kneeling down to her level and taking her hands in mine.

"I'm not sure I understand why you would need my blood though?" Briste asked

"Well, your blood tells us how many you have living in you." I explained taking out the chip

She looked hesitant, "will it hurt?"

"I'm not gonna lie, it's gonna pinch, but only for s second." I bluntly told her

"I was kind of hoping you would lie." She grumbled holdimg out her arm to me.

I smirked, "yeah well get used to things being blunt when your with me kid."

"How will you know?" She asked

"I'm going to send it to My friend
Obi-wan." I answered

"Who is that?"

"He's my masters other padawan." I explained

"Jedi can have more than one padawan?" She asked. I scoffed lightly

"No, not really." I answered

"Oh. So do you like Obi-wan?" She inquired

I looked at her quickly, "what do you mean?"
