Loud cheering rang in my ears as we stood on the balcony. I've never been to a pod race before, its very loud.
The announcers were talking in an echo way but I wasn't listening. I stood looking for Anakin. I heard a bunch of names being called and went they were said someone would wave. So I listened for Ani's name.
After a few minutes it was finally called, "And the late entry, young Anakin Skywalker!"
I smiled and cheered as I saw Anakin wave. I looked up at Alondria with a big smile, she smiled back but she looked to be deep in thought.
I saw C-3PO move out on the field with the flag for Anakin and smiled even more. It was just Alondria, Padme, and I here at the moment, Qui-Gon and the others were helping Ani get ready.
I saw Ani's mother make her way over to the balcony were at. I then saw Qui-Gon and Jar Jar follow.
"Is he nervous?" Ani's mother asked Qui-Gon once he reached us. "He's fine." He answered.
"You Jedi are far to reckless. The Queen is not-"
"The Queen trusts my judgment, young handmaiden. You should too." Qui-Gon cut Padme off.
"You assume too much." She huffed.
Then the balcony started to move up as the announcer called for them to start their engines. I gasped and looked over the edge with wide eyes. We're so high.
I heard the sound of the engines start up at I looked at Anakin. His pod was fired up and ready to race. Just as he was.
"Oh, dissen gonna be messy. Me no watch'n!" Jar Jar cried. The rest of us just stood, waiting for the race to begin.
Then a gong went off and the racers went speeding by. I watched them go but, I didn't see Ani.
I looked back at the field and saw he was still there. What?
"Oh wait, looks like little Skywalker has been stalled." An announcer said and the croud laughed.
"Oh no!" I yelled and gripped my hair.
I looked over and saw another racer was stuck to, getting just as much of attention as Anakin.
"Come on, Ani!" Jar Jar yelled and I smiled. Yeah, come on Ani.
I watched as he frantically looked around inside his pod to try and figure out what the problem was. He then hit something and he took off. Yes!
"And there goes Skywalker!" The announcer said.
"Go, Ani, Go!" I yelled and turned to the screen his mother was holding that aloud us to watch the race.
He had caught up with some of the racers, quickly passing them. They went through caves and tunnels and all kinds of stuff. It looked dangerous.
I started to feel my stomach turn to knots. Like a sick, worried feeling. I shrugged it off and continued to watch.
All of a sudden, something exploded right next to Anakin. I gasped, then let out a breath once I noticed to was alright.
I felt something grab me, I turned around and saw Alondria with a small smile on her face. I quickly gave one back before turning to the race once again.
Then shots went off, and Anakins pod was hit. I took in a breath again. "Looks like a few Tusken Raiders are camped out on the canyon dune turn." The announcer, well announced.
All of a sudden the racer who was still stuck here's pod exploded. Sending parts everywhere.
The racers went by at that point, but not Anakin. I then heard a pod and somehow, knew it was him.
"Look there he is!" I shouted and we watched as he zipped by.
It was amazing how he would fly, quickly moving passed others and doing flips in the air. It looked scary yet intriguing at the same time.
Another pod had blown up and debris was flying everywhere, all around Anakin. All of a sudden something on his pod broke and he became disconnected to the other power Serge and was spinning out of control.
I gasped and grasped onto Alondria really tight. I watched as Anakin tried to get the cord back using a magnet. After a few tries he got it and rehooked it and took off faster to catch back up. I let out another breath and let go of Alondria.
He moved by racers quickly and they finally came back around, "At the start of the final lap Sebulba is in the lead followed closely by Skywalker." The announcer said and everyone cheered.
"Go Ani!" I yelled and clapped along with the crowd.
They quickly moved their way around, Anakin trying hard to pass him. They got to the cave and they were neck n' neck. Sebulba hit Anakins ship and Ani stumbled a bit, Sebulba hit him again and he went on to the service ramp.
Anakin flew up into the air and landed in front of Sebulba. They moved onto the open field but Anakins pod was smoking really bad. I held my breath and watched as Sebulba moved passed Anakin.
"No." I whispered.
Anakin seemed to fix the problem as the smoke stopped and he zoomed off catching up to Selbulba.
"Careful Ani, Careful Ani." Jar Jar chanted and I could agree more. Careful Ani.
I watched through the screen as Ani visibly relaxed and caught up to Selbulba. Did he- did he hear me?
They were neck n' neck again and Selbulba hit his pod again. This time they seemed to have gotten stuck.
I watched intensely as they both struggled to get untangled. All of a sudden Anakin pushed forward and they released, but Selbulbas pod came undone and exploded.
I cheered and watched Ani cross the finish line. "The crouds are going nuts!"
Our balcony started to lower and we all ran to Anakin. Qui-Gon put him on his shoulders and we all cheered.
"I did it mom!" Anakin cried and she nodded with a big smile.
"Briste! I did it! I won!" He screamed and I laughed and clapped. "I know! Good job!"
He did it, he won!
