Charlotte POV

My entire body ceased any movement; every inch of color drained from my face as I heard their steps pad against the tile, getting closer and closer. My mouth hung open with the cup still pressed against my bottom lip. “Charlotte, are you alright? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost?”

A warm wave passed over me, pulling back to life, “Uh, yea, just a bit hot that’s all,” my smile faltered as I blew onto the cup. She eyed my suspiciously; my cheeks glowed with heat from her death glare.

“What is it? You can tell me,” a polished smile grew on her face as she set down her teacup.

“That couple that just entered, I know them,” she swiveled in her seat to catch a glance of Eleanor and Louis settling in their booth.

Her face perked up, “Isn’t that one of those boy band members? Do you want to go say hello? Ask for a photo?” My foolish aunt began to search her purse, searching for who knows what.

“No, no, it’s alright. I’d rather keep my distance; I believe they’re on a date.” I calmed her, gently setting my hand on her wrist.

“Are you sure? I hear they’re really nice,” she began twisting against the vinyl, getting me aggravated.

“Aunt Erin,” a groan escaped me, pulling her back to me, but my eyes didn’t land on her green ones, but a pair of sparkling blue ones.

My body stiffened up once more, unsure of what I was feeling. Why was I nervous? We were friends, I was no fan girl. With one more look I knew why, he was striking. His tousled brown hair was arranged in an effortless manner, his muscular arms bulged out of his shirt, and his face was covered in light stubble.

I could feel my mouth dry up and my breathing stop, but too soon his eyes flickered away from mine, letting air into my lungs. I began panting, but very softly, I didn’t want to worry Aunt Erin. Luckily, she was far too caught up in overlooking the menu to notice my mini meltdown.

Practically still scrambling for breath my eyes lowered back to the menu, scanning for anything that looked appetizing. They stopped at a cake.

Lu & Li’s Loveable Laughable Lethal Cake

The 3 Ls, a trio flavored cake of vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet drowned in icing with a decorative ring on top.

My tongue escaped my lips, slowly trailing against my upper lip, “The Lu & Li’s Loveable Laughable Lethal Cake looks mouth-watering!” I was basically drooling just thinking about the cake.

“I agree!” The familiar voice made me jump out of my skin and my breathing stop, once again.

“Louis!” I did my best to try and sound enthusiastic, but nobody was buying it.

“What’s wrong?” His bottom lip was pushed out into a pout.

“Nothing, what are you doing here?” My fingers subconsciously began fumbling with the teacup as I questioned the pop star.
