Charlotte’s POV

A frumpy Louis slumped before me. He was wearing a black hoodie, some dark jeans, and a comfy-looking knit beanie. His face was swollen and his eyes were red, as if he was crying. “Louis, are you alright? C’mon inside, I’ll make you some hot tea.” My hand extended out, searching for his. Louis’s cold fingers slid from his pocket and gently tickled my palm, sending a good chill up my spine.

Louis was always a step behind me as I made him a cup of tea, even when I sat him down on the bed and wrapped a blanket around him. He still hadn’t spoken once. “Louis, what’s wrong?” He looked at me with hollow eyes still speechless. A frown grew on my face as I watched him. I rose from the bed and wrapped a thin blanket around me, inching closer to him. My hand rested on his forearm, “Lou,” still nothing. Unsatisfied, I squeezed his hand and stepped towards the window and climbed out.

Not long after Louis followed me, falling down into the chair I’d placed out here long ago as I switched on the lights. I was perched up on the window with the blanket tightly wrapped around me; the metal too cold for my feet. “Louis, would you just tell me what happened!” I was fed up with the ghost who sulked two steps behind me. He came here for a reason and he either tell me now or I was gonna push him off the fire escape.

“Eleanor broke up with me.” His voice rose and his jaw slightly gritted to the left, “She said she couldn’t help falling for him,” He began to mock her voice and rose from the chair, “You remember the first time we really met? At the park?” I hastily nodded as he stepped closer to me, “You remember how she never showed? She was with him!” Louis’s voice was full of disgust, but his eyes were red and full of pain. “To think, I picked her up little date myself!” My bottom lip grew sore beneath my teeth, unsure of what to do.

“She pleaded it was because I was never there! She said he was always there for her! How ridiculous! Maybe if she stopped spending so much time with him I’d see her more!” Louis began pacing back and forth on the cold metal, leaving me curious as how his feet weren’t frozen. “She was completely insensitive! She even had the nerve to turn her little escapade back on me, protesting that…” he turned on his heels, taking one step to my face, “I love you.” His voice dropped below a whisper, almost a realization. If I hadn’t been so close I wouldn’t have heard him.

We were barely a centimeter apart; his right hand was pressed against the glass next to my face and the other I couldn’t see. I could feel my heart failing, starting and stopping every time his warm breath hit me like a tornado, whipping his scent in and out my nose. His eyes flickered to my lips, “It’s funny because…she was right.” His voice was lower than before, if possible. “Every moment I spent with you I fell deeper and deeper.”  I forced the lump in my throat down with a gulp and managed to keep myself standing. It was probably below freezing outside and I could was bubbling up like a volcano about to blow.

His beautiful blue eyes gazed deep into my hazel ones, piercing my aching soul. Once more they flickered down to my shaky lips. They were brought back up, locking with mine; my heart was threatening to pop out of my ribcage at the pace it was beating. Ever so slowly and gently Louis’s left hand appeared, fixing itself tenderly on my flushed cheeks, distributing jolts of electricity throughout my body. And that wasn’t even the best part, “and I know you feel the same way.” Although put slightly cocky, I couldn’t deny it. I definitely loved Louis Tomlinson as much as he claimed to love me. I was speechless, my mind was blank. All I could think was that I loved him and that he loved me. Everything else was gone: Eleanor, Emilio, the temperature, or even that I looked like a homeless man at the moment.

“Well say something,” a smirk cracked on his face.

“I… Louis…you… love,” my mouth just boggled words together, unable to contract a complete thought.

Louis let out a cheery laugh, releasing his spearmint breath onto my nose. The smell was cool as it etched itself deep into my mind.  He moved closer to me as if I was going to whisper something to him, except it looked as if I was going to whisper into his lips.

I knew what was coming, so I did exactly what I was asked: I said something.

“Louis, I love you. You have no idea. It’s been an absolute gift to have met you. You are my London Love. I’ll explain what that means later, but Louis I love you. So just kiss me goddamnnit!”

In one swift movement his lips were pressed heavily in sync with mine, the blanket fell to my sides, and his hand was at the back of my neck, pulling me closer. All the air was squeezed from my lungs in his grasp, yet my arms were instantly latched around his neck, ripping his beanie off and running my hands though his soft brown hair. His weight shifted, leaning deeper in-between my legs.

I bit down naturally on his bottom lip, enjoying the feel of his soft lips against mine. My body was on fire against his, every movement sparked a flame to my skin.

My legs tied around his torso, closing the last open space. One of his hands slid to my thigh, grasping it with all his might, pulling me from my seat and up into his arms. My hands tugged at his hair as his lips pecked and picked at my neck.

An arctic breeze blew through us, tearing our scorching, breathless bodies apart. He was the first to speak, “So what’s a London Love?”

I just stared at him and laughed, not even noticing the phone ringing right be behind us.
