Louis POV

I didn’t think Lotts was angry at me, but I knew Eleanor would be. I had been blowing her off lately to hang with Lotts. Usually El would just pretend not to care and just hang with some other friends, but that’s what worried the most.

            That she didn’t care.

I wasn’t trying to make her jealous or anything of that sort. We’ve just been drifting and neither of us had been trying to pull each other back. I loved her a lot. Everyone believed we would get married and have kids, one girl and two boys.

So now I was in the other room on the phone while everyone carelessly watched Disney movies like six-year-olds.

“Hey Louis, I’m so glad you called—”

“Ellie,” I cut her off with the nickname I only ever used when I apologized.

            “Louis what’s wrong?”

“Are by any chance free right now?” My eyes squeezed tight as I prayed she was.

            “Actually, I’m not and that’s what I—”

“I’m sorry I’ve been hanging out with Lotts so much. It’s just I know you have classes and studying and tests.” I hated when I rambled, I was supposedly trained not too, but who listens anyways.

“Louis, I don’t care. I get it okay. I know the whole schedule situation, I’m used to it. I do need to talk to you though okay.”

“Are you free tomorrow by any chance?”

“Indeed I am, come over tomorrow okay?” Her voice seemed wary, but I was just glad things were alright between us.

“Okay, I love you.” A wave of relief washed over me as I could feel my stomach stir again at the words. There was silence on the end of the line though, which cause worry to fill my body.

“Bye,” Eleanor briefly murmured before ending the call, leaving me shocked, offended, and worried.

I lingered back a little bit, trying to just calm myself. There was a thick door between me and the rest of the group, a soundproof door. After the call I took the guitar and just strummed, hard. I hadn’t even realized I’d been making up lyrics to the melody, but I knew they were no good. I was a shit song writer.

With a deep sigh I placed the guitar back in its stand and ran my hand roughly through my already messy hair. There was a small decorative mirror placed on the wall; I just stared at myself, pressing smile on my face. “Everything is okay,” I slowly spoke, reassuring myself. With one last signature smile I pulled open the door and settled myself in-between my band mates and my new friend.

We hadn’t even gotten halfway through the movie when a food fight broke out. Popcorn was being sprinkled across the room, the kernels lodging themselves in everyone’s hair. I believe some Oreos were involved as well because I have a circle of cookie crumbs on my cheek. Everyone was trying to find shelter, especially Lotts, who was currently using me as her shield as we made way to the ammo.
