Mason's POV
I had heard the commotion between Evie and Judy, it had kept me up, plus it wasn't the quietest conversation they could of had. I was curious as to what they were hinting on, knowing what I used to know of Evelyn. Skipping curfew was a huge no-no. She was too much of goody-to-shoes to pull any teenage rebel crap, excluding the drama at school. Though with the tone Evie used it was very notable that she didn't want to mention it and that's what kept me up for so long.
The creaking of the stairs floor boards caught my attention, pulling me from my sleep trance. I pushed the covers off me, careful not to disturb the sleeping blonde in my bed.
I pulled on some shorts and made my way out of my room.
I could see from my door a figure walking down the stairs. I followed. I couldn't make out who it was exactly from the lack of light in the house but I could tell it was a female considering she had a small build. Though I couldn't point out which female.
Before she managed to move any further I turned the lights on. Revealing Evie walking towards the front door in a steady pace.
"Evie, what are you doing?"
Silence, she didn't even make the slightest response, neither acknowledging me.
I walked closer to her, calling out her name whispering louder and louder. Hoping she'd turn around and say 'Surprise, you've been pranked!', though by the time I twirled her around to face me I already had a suspicion.
Her eyes were wide open though no one was actually there, her mouth slighty ajar. She was sleep walking. I sighed. Of course she slept walked. Why wouldn't she. She was Evelyn Mills after all. Nothing about her was normal.
"Evie, listen to me. I need you to wake up" I whispered to her, grabbing her arms and shaking her slightly.
She struggled against my grip, turning around and back towards the door. She really wanted to walk out.
Though before she was able to twist the door handle and leave into the abyss I quickly picked her up bridal style and carried her away enabling her from struggling against me. Still in her sleep daze, she was staring at me, muttering under her breath.
"Whats that Evie?"
"You have a nice hard chest. It's hard but it's soft, like an egg" she whispered back, poking me.
I had to laugh at her frame. Sleep walking Evie was when her inner innocent child came out. It was something that was proven multiple times when we were young.
"I see"
"Mason? Wait, I take that back. Your a rotten egg" she spat out suddenly. Her whole body becoming rigid in my arms as I got closer to Heath's room. Though she didn't put up a fight against me she became a rock. I stared down at her in confusion, not understanding the sudden change in demeanor.
"You almost made me do it"
I didn't understand. I almost made her do what?
"What did I do Evie?" the question falling out of my mouth as multiple scenarios formed in my head. Unrealistic thoughts. Questionable thoughts. The possibilities endless as I had absolutely no information or hints.
"It's a secret"
"A secret?"
"Yeah, a secret your never allowed to kn-" and with that she fell asleep. Her words dying mid-way. Her head rolling into my chest. She was out.
