Evies POV
The tutoring session was great. We managed to get through a lot more than I expected before we decided it was enough our books and equipment covering every inch of the booth we occupied. We even stayed longer, just having a snack and getting to know each other better. Enjoying each others presence.
It was nice. His smile was becoming a daily highlight.
Though knowing it was getting late, by the lack of light outside, I knew I had to get home before my parents started freaking out. They didn't need anymore added stress. The house alone will probably give them both new grey hairs.
The car trip was enjoyable, both of us trying to sing along with the radio. Cracking up over the others shot at a long or high note. Tears were welling up in my eyes from laughing too hard.
Of course though the fun had to end to quickly. Brent had to drop me off at the start of my street, persisting that it wasn't very gentlemanly to drop me off on the street. I agreed but I convinced him it was for the greater good, to avoid any encounters with Mason. With that he agreed, not wanting to experience any unfortunate events on his face, and said his warily goodbye.
Sighing a dream like sigh, as I remembered out night I let myself into Mason's house.
"Evelyn Ace Mills, where on earth have you been?" my mother demanded as soon as she saw my head comes through the door. I could see herself storming towards me from the couch as she seemed to have waited for my presence.
"Do you have any idea what time it is? Its 10pm, curfew was an hour ago"
I chocked on air. It is already 10pm? Confusion clouded my mind.
I glanced down at my watch only to find that it was gone. Oh yes, the collapsed house took my watch with it.
"Well, I guess that solved the mystery. I don't have my watch on" I told her shrugging. My watch was most likely crushed into a thousand pieces.
"And your phone? You couldn't even call me? To let me know where you were?" she pestered on.
"Mum I have nothing, everything I've ever owned is under our collapsed house!" I argued. It wasn't my fault. I was too caught up in the moment with Brent. I didn't have my phone, or my watch- if I did she knew I would of called her. She was just more panicked.
"I'm sorry Evelyn. I was just worried, remember what happened last time you skipped curfew?" she whispered, staring into my eyes with her watering ones.
I turned my head away from her, keeping the tears in bay. I didn't want to even think about that memory.
"Listen Judy, lets just let her to bed. She's probably tired and exhausted from today. Tomorrow we'll go out and buy some new things" I heard my dad say intervening, pulling my mother into his arms as he comforted her.
I gave him a small nod, thanking him before bypassing my mother and quickly making my way back upstairs to Heath's room.
Dropping my things onto the floor I jumped into the newly found bed. Thankful that it was actually comfy. I snuggled into the extra pillow trying to reminisce about the tutoring session. How Brent made me forget about everything within those small few hours. I didn't even bring up the fact that I was sleeping at his house. All problems thrown out the door when he smiled at me.
Though as sleep pulled me deeper into the dark, images of that dreaded night began to play behind my eyes.
Lets just say I didn't have a great nights sleep.

Hey guys!
I'm just curious, because the chapters are small instalments a drastic contrast to Back with a Secret, would you prefer I update twice at once every week? Or Twice a week, one at the beginning of the week and the next towards the end?
I just feel so out of place updating. Just comment your suggestions and I'll consider the pros and cons to try and make you's happy :)
And don't forget to comment and vote!
Thanks, Much love from someone who hopefully brings you joy x
