Mason's POV

The whole car trip to school was painfully slow and silent. My thoughts still stuck on this mornings events. The image of Evie in my room with nothing but a towel on was forever engraved into my mind.

What can I say? I'm still a teenage guy.

Though it was amusing seeing how red she got from embarrassment. Only Evie could muster up the possibility of what she had done.

She has had a knack for doing the impossible.

I tightened my hands on the steering wheel, clenching my jaw. These memories and thoughts were poisonous. I don't think about Evelyn Mills. I don't care about her feelings or her life. We are two separate people who didn't mix or try to socialise. It was impossible.

Focusing on the road I tried to think of the present Evie. How whenever we seemed to be within proximity her eyes would go cold. Her death stare even colder. Her words bitter and iced.

It was always a slap in the face. Though very quickly I had started to reciprocate the feelings and soon I didn't feel the pain. Forgetting our past and letting my despise for her harden and deepen. It was a mutual feeling.

I had no problem laughing and making her life miserable at school. Though with recent misfortunate events, it seems I can now expand the torment at home. A thought a found pleasure in.

I felt the sickly thin arms wrap too tightly around my waist before I heard her words, "Hey babe." I had to actually see who the arms belonged to, by now all the faces of girls seeming to blur into one another. Oh yes, Katie Pickwell. Lacking in the brain compartment but making it up with her fake boobs and revealing clothing.

Looking down at Katie made me realise I've been wandering the halls like a zombie, stuck in my thoughts.

"So after school... why don't we go back to yours and visit that lovely bed of yours?" She purred into my ear. Her hands playing with the buttons of my shirt.

Untangling myself free from her grasps, I sighed, "Not tonight, I already have some plans."

I had already made plans with Kristy, one of her minions.

Katie and I weren't exclusive, obviously.

Though she had the impression that we were an 'item', I spared little attention to her than necessary. She was nothing but a bed toy. I was a wild card in this school. Hooking up with anyone I wanted, with no strings to hold me down or suffocate me. Everyone knew that and I must say I took somewhat pride in it.

Just as I was leaving Katie I felt a soft body clash into my body. The female body unstable and notably a little spaced, I grabbed onto her to prevent her from tumbling over. Looking down I wasn't overly surprised to see Evie. This wasn't the first time she has run into me and it definitely won't be the last time. To be honest I was annoyed. I was just about to leave the clutches of Katie but she definitely ruined my plans as I felt her behind me.

"Dammit Evelyn!" I groaned. Catching her attention. Her eyes were glazed, barely seeing me.

I was in no mood to communicate with her any further after terminating this mornings thoughts. I had pictured myself avoiding her at school to balance out the times I would bypass her at home. It was rational and seemed full proof, but I didn't account for Evelyn's knack for ruining everything.

Just before making a snide comment on her inability to see, her words silenced me.

"Not now Mason" her tone was light. Her mind clearly not on me. She was distracted. Interesting. She was always up for a little bickering.
