"Well I must admit, I didn't expect to sleep on the floor last night" Nick muttered, groaning in pain. He pushed me off of him, my head no longer on top of his comfy torso but on the hard wood.

"Good morning to you too Nick" I hissed as my head throbbed from the impact. I sat up, stretching my limbs out similar to a cat. The restriction in my jeans made me wonder why I never got out of my day clothes. I watched as Nick stood up, stretching his back muscles, messing around with his floppy bed hair. Grinning cheekily at me, he lent me a hand up, that I gladly took.

"So I know we just woke up, but I'm insanely hungry. Do you have breakfast?" he asked, holding onto my shoulders and staring into my eyes almost like it was a life and death question. Unable to suppress my laugh, I shook against his hands, taking them with my own and pulling him with me into the kitchen. This boy had an endless pit for a stomach, i'll tell you that.

Nick had to leave soon after we ate some slightly burnt scrambled eggs, something along the lines of 'my brother and his friends drank three cases of Red bull and had destroyed their house over night'.

The mention of Nick's sibling was making my longing for a little sister or brother stronger. It was always something I dreamed of. To have a younger mini-me causing chaos to our parents, staying up way past our bedtimes and sneaking into the kitchen to eat candy. Whenever I tried to explain this to Nick he would quickly shut me up, bursting into a very detailed explanation about how being an only child was really the dream.

I waved goodbye to Nick as he backed out of the Key's drive way and down the street still in his blue batman pyjamas. He looked like an adorable toddler. The morning silence was short lived as Mason's shiny car replaced Nick's previous spot a second later. The he-devil made himself well known to me, sporting his irritating smirk.

"I see the love-sick puppy has left" he snickered, passing by me in arrogance and shutting the front door behind him.

Love-sick puppy? Confused and too tired to comprehend his words I chose to ignore his statement and began to file into the house after him my hand. My bed was calling for me.

The loud and sudden blast of a car horn broke me from my haze, earning itself yelp from me. Turning around cautiously I saw Mason's parents parking  in their allocated section of the driveway. Waving at me from their tinted windows. Grinning, I waved back. It seemed like all the Key's were returning from their nights out at the moment.

Their back door opened as I finished coming down their front steps. Freezing in my spot, I subconsciously felt myself stop breathing. I took in his appearance, I'm almost certain I was gawking as I could hear his chuckle loud and clear from the other side of the lawn.

"Well I always knew I was handsome but I feel like this is a bit extreme, even for you Evie" he laughed lugging his bags behind him into my direction. Forcibly waking myself I released a little scream before lunging at him. Unlike the time I jumped on Mason, he caught me expertly this time, cupping my thighs making sure I didn't fall to my death.

"I had no idea you were coming home you goofhead!" I yelled at him, poking his chest hard before wrapping my arms around his shoulders. I felt his laughter vibrating through his chest as he carried me into the house.

"Thought I would let it be a surprise" he explained setting me down once the front door was closed behind us, his parents retreating to their room. Taking a good step back, I fully inspected him. He recently cut his black hair shorter on the sides, the mop of hair on top barely aloof. He seemed happier, tanner and had gained serious muscle all the while maintaining the lean physic guys were sporting nowadays.
