Evie's POV

Waking up was not at all refreshing. If anything I felt more tired and stressed than before. I sighed, rolling out of bed. My sleeping pills were in my bedside table. I groaned in annoyance. I knew I'd have to go and pick up a new bottle today. I could not live with another sleepless night.

I pulled myself off the inviting bed and trudged down the hallway towards the bathroom. Walking in to the bathroom I checked my reflection, wincing as I saw the dark circle under my bloodshot eyes. The colour in my face paling. Even my lips were turning white. I sighed. Unlike everyone else who could stand missing out on a few nights of sleep I had to have those hours of bliss.

I turned to stare at the shower, realising that I should grab clothes before going in. Don't want another mishap happening in Mason's room. I twisted the handle, this time noticing the very sensitive opening mechanism. I walked in only to scream in horror and ran back into the bathroom.

I locked the door, sliding down it with a hand over my mouth. I couldn't believe what I saw. The revolting piece known as Mason was in bed, being very active with a very naked girl. I shivered in disgust trying to erase that image but to no success. Great, it was permanently stained into my mind.

I could hear footsteps and harsh whispering on the other side of the door, though I placed my hands over my ears. I didn't need to any of that. In fact I didn't need to SEE any of that. I groaned again. Today was just not my day at all. I should of just stayed in bed today. Call a sickie. I stand up, wincing from momentary pain in my abdomen. Though it quickly faded away.

I walked out of the bathroom through the other door and walked back into Heath's room. I searched around the place looking for any clothing that would be enough to go to the mall with. I'm an honest idiot. Heath's room is full of clothing, why did I have to ask Mason for clothes? This could have all been avoided. I shook my head in disbelief.

I pulled yesterdays clothes off and chucked on the new items. I knew it was disgusting not taking shower after being in yesterdays clothes but you know what? Suck it. I've had little to no sleep. I knew just how the rest of the day would go if I went to school. It was days like this that I knew my mum wouldn't mind me skipping.

I grabbed my wallet, the one thing that was useful in life that I accidentally left in my locker. Thanking my past self gracefully for being forgetful. I pulled my converse back on and left the room heading downstairs. Blessed to have avoided a head on with Mason or the blonde. I quietly closed the front door behind me, taking notice that none of the parents cars had left yet. They were probably still in bed.

Curious, I stared up at the sky surprised to still see a sunrise. It really was early. I slumped my shoulders and walked down the front steps and made my way to the side walk. Walking past my wreckage of a house, I glanced up to Mason's window consciously only to see the blonde staring at me curiously.

It was Kristy. I closed my eyes turning away from the scene.

By the time I reached the cafe, the sun was already set in the sky. The streets busy with life once again as people rushed to work or school. I grinned at the setting. It was refreshing seeing light. I let the sun hit my exposed skin, warming me up from the slight chill of the morning temperature before heading inside the small shop.

The wafting smell of caffeine brought me to my surroundings. Heightening my senses already. I ordered my beverage, thanking the well known cafe owner and headed back out into the open. I took a much needed sip of coffee, not flinching from the sudden hotness on my tongue.

I sighed in content before pursuing another mission. I needed to buy a whole list of things. I made it the shopping mall in record time, the drink restoring my strength and ability to think clearly, energising me. I walked in, the malls slightly empty as it was still to early for morning shoppers.

I wandered aimlessly, drawing closer and closer to the tech shop. Stopping at the entrance to stare at the windows I notice the model of my now crushed and buried phone. Weighing the cons and pros of a new phone I settle with coming back later to get one.

I continue my venture through the store, stopping by to buy some clothes and necessities. I even grabbed two new pairs of shoes, black boots and a navy blue pair of converse. Happy with my buys I headed to the other side, towards the pharmacy. Walking in I take notice of the all too familiar workers. I smile at the ones I knew by heart then make my way to the back.

Finding the pair of blue eyes I sigh in relief when I see he's working in today. I hurriedly make my way to his direction, gaining his attention. Scott's face morphs into a friendly smile as he makes his way around the counter, welcoming my hug. I released him, copy his smile on my own face

"Evie, what are you doing here now?" he asks moving back behind his station. I grin up at him, adoring his cute features. Scott was someone who I could trust with my life, and have multiple times may I add. He was the sweetest 24 year old I know. He could make me smile by just waving. He was honestly the best guy friend I could have, beside Heath.

"Well, believe it or not, but my house collapsed Sunday night and now I have nothing but guy clothes to wear" I fill him in motioning down to the my body. He cocked a perfectly timed eyebrow up at my appearance. Tsking his dismay.

"Sweet thing, those shorts were so last season but I love the shirt. It complements your hair" he says his eyes lightening up. Did I also mention Scott batted for the other team? He had been happily together with his boyfriend of 4 years. Their relationship was something I dreamed about.

I laughed at his comment.

"As much as I would like to stay and talk about this seasons fashion trend, I'm here to pick up my back up bottles please" I say leaning on the counter with a small tentative smile.

His smile faltered slightly but just as quick and it appeared it was gone. He nodded his head and bounced his way to the back room to collect my things. I turn around restless and check out the space. The column of shelves all stocked and ready for todays events. I watched as a little boy clutched his mothers hand, obviously the sick one in the family as he kept sniffing with red eyes.

I smiled faintly at the pair. I gaze over to the other side of the store only to stop short at a pair of very familiar and irked eyes.
