"Guess who just passed with flying colours?" he whispered into my ear unexpectedly causing me to jump back with a shriek.

Whipping my head in his direction as I heard his chuckle ring out through the still empty halls I felt myself relax. Eric was now leaning against the locker looking like he didn't have any care in the world, a brilliant smile gracing his face. His eyes were lit and didn't seem to be dimming any time soon.

"When am I going to receive my 'thank you' present?"

His disbelief triggered my own smile. "A present? This was arranged without our consent, your present is seeing me over take your rank" he retaliated. I couldn't help the obnoxious scoff that left my mouth. If there was thing I knew, without sounding too snobby, is that I was going to graduate from this school with the highest scores they'd ever see. I put too much damn effort and time to not succeed in this one goal.

"Keep dreaming Key" was all I muttered as I twirled around and walked down the hallway, hoping to reach my locker before the sea of students came crashing in.

And just like that it was already home time. The school day passing by quickly and uneventfully. No usual harassment from Mason, no flirtatious meetings with Brent and no odd behaviour from Keely. Everything was normal and it was just a huge relief.

"Want to go the park for a while?" Nick suggestive to us. I grinned at him, open for any type of fun. I nodded my head while Keely shook hers.

"You guys know I hate the great outdoors" she whined, trudging beside us as we headed towards my locker. I watched as Nick rolled his eyes at her antics.

"Where did you want to go then?" he asked perceptively his grin slowly falling as hers grew.

"The mall of course, I could do with some retail therapy"

We both groaned. Shopping with Keely was never ending and caused us both physically pain. She could spend her whole inheritance shopping non-stop and it scared me. I have never seen her look so intense and determined than the times she spends shopping.

We had reached my locker just as Nick and Keely begun their very familiar argument of her poor definition of fun. Rolling my eyes at their behaviour I ignored them and opened the door letting out a small shocked gasp as something fell down. Quickly bending to grab the item I stood up intrigued. It was only a small piece of paper. The size of a contact card you'd give to an associate. It was unfamiliar and didn't belong to me yet it had my name neatly printed on the front. Evelyn Mills.

"Ooooh our little Evie has a love letter!" Keely suddenly sung from beside me. I glanced at her wiggling eyebrows, my hand still clutching onto the note.

"A love letter?" Nick asked confused as he stared at it.

"Open it up! Read it out loud girl" she all but squealed, bumping her shoulder with mine for added effect. Rolling my eyes at her once again, I flipped it around to read the printed letters.

"Roses are red

violets are blue.

Love never crossed my mind,

until the day I met you."

"Wow, a poem. How original" Nick muttered over my shoulder. I felt a tug of my lips as I handed it to a too eager Keely.

"I think it's adorable. Do you know who it's from?" she asked holding it to her chest like it was one of the most important things in the world to her. She was an odd child.

I shut the door closed and turned to face them. "Secret admirer Keely. Of course I have no idea" and with that I snatched it from her grasp and tucked the paper in my back jean's pocket.

"We could always go back to mine. Heath came home last week" I told them grinning at the memory. He was honestly the biggest goof head I've met, but I loved him like a brother.

Nick just like last week, threw his arm around my shoulders as he agreed with the idea. It took a little bit more convincing for Keely to agree but we won.

"Heath man, so good to see you again" Nick said once he spotted a lounging cavemen. Heath upon hearing our arrival and voices jumped and sprang into action. Giving a manly shake to Nick and smile in the direction of Keely who just blushed, diving deeper into her texting.

"So what are you three toddlers doing this afternoon?" he questioned plopping back down the couch with us.

Shrugging, "No clue, we're up for anything" I said leaning back into the couch.

His face lightened up at my words and he dashed out of the room momentarily stunning us all. Seconds later he was back and holding a board game with a grin on his face.

"Here I hold the Game of Life a journey every teenager must take. Here we'll see how many children you'll have, if you'll fail in debt or be living high and almightily in riches" he gave out his grand speech. Chuckling, I opened the box and set it up as he explained the rules to the two newbies to the game.

"Prepare to be in my car ashes peasants" I spokeevilly.

Sorry it was so short! I didn't have much time but I knew I had to update so hopefully it'll do as a filler chapter.
