For relapsedstoryteller thank you for the request.

Someone softly knocks on your apartment door, twice.
You stand in confusion because of the time, 11:54 pm. This guest was most likely unwanted.
You swing open your door and JJ stands there, her nervously fiddles with zipper of his jacket.
"Hey Monica..." He trails off avoiding your eyes.
"JJ," you scold, "this isn't how people who are getting divorced act."
He shrugs and you can't shake the feeling that he's been crying. Something about his demeanor was unusual.
"Can't I come in, I just want to talk..." He pry's, pulling at your heart strings.
No matter what went down between you two, you would always be there to talk. That was something you promised each other.
You awkwardly shut the front door as he sat on the couch. You joined him and shared a weak smile.
"Did you watch the last game?" He asked looking at the wall.
"Yes...."
"I'm off Monica, I keep putting it out there-my best I mean- and its just not working." He sounded frustrated and a little bit hurt.
"Sure you looked rusty--"
He laughed, and you stopped. You certainly did not want to fight.
"JJ I'm worried about you, we all are." You confessed after an unbearable silence.
He frowned, "why?"
"You have got to stop pushing yourself so far."
"I need to," he said barely over a whisper, "I need to, Monica."
"You're lonely." You concluded.
"Of course, the house isn't the same without you." He's eyes ever strayed from yours as he spoke, "Come back to me Monica."
"Oh JJ," you tried to reason.
"Don't say no, don't say no."
You took a deep breath.
"What do you want? I'll give it to you."
You took his hand, "all I ever wanted was you."
"Please come back, and we can forget about all that other stuff."
Painful memories started to stir up, reasons why you were living alone in the dark, empty apartment.
"I don't think, you could ever be with just one woman." You told him.
He answered back without hesitation, "I could, I could now."
He avoided his gaze. You couldn't possibly forgive him like this.
"It's too late isn't it?" He asked dropping his head.
"It might be."
"Monica I'm sorry, but I never wanted you to leave me."
You didn't have to speak he continued.
"The truth is I love you. More than you'll ever know. But the fact of the matter is, if I would have known that cold January night would be the last time you slept by my side, I would have held you closer."
You started to cry "I can't--"
"Come home with me, just for tonight, sleep by my side."
"Jj--"
"Monica, this is something I need." He begged.
You didn't speak you just nodded your head. What harm could one more night with the man you love do?
