thank you for your constant support and reads!!
"Call now!" Your friend Jackie shouted, you hit dial and it rang twice.
The both of you were trying to win a pair of tickets to the Patriots game. Both of you being filled with a competitive spirt, loved to call into these contests during your lunch break.
"Jackie, Jackie, Jackie!" You called hitting her right arm repeatedly.
"Yes?" She questioned, her voice filled with much excitement.
"We won!" You cheered
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"We won!" She shouted.
Filled with excitement as you gave the local ratio station your information.
••••••••••••••••
A shy smile spread across your face when you saw him.
He was the tall and handsome New England quarterback.
It was only yesterday that you and your best friend were calling in the radio station to win these stellar tickets.
A sudden pang of self consciousness punch you in the gut.
How do I look?
You never thought you would have the chance to meet someone like him, and by that you mean; someone famous.
You prayed to God you wouldn't say anything stupid when he closed the gap between you.
"Hello," he stuck his hand out and you shook it.
"You won the contest?" He asked.
You didn't notice that he had asked the question, as cheesy as it sounds you were lost in his eyes.
"Oh! Yes. My friend Jackie and I." You pointed to the bubbly brunette that was your best friend.
You and Jackie were what they call polar opposites. She was outgoing and funny, while you were deathly shy and couldn't tell a joke if you tried.
"Did you like the game?" Tom asked interrupting your thoughts again.
"Yeah, you played good." You looked down, but not before you noticed him blush at your compliment.
Maybe be wast as confident as he seemed.
You watched as the team and most of the fans started clearing out of the stadium.
"You should go..." You trailed off.
"No, I kind of want to talk to you." He pointed out taking a seat on the bench.
You hesitated and took a seat next to him.
"So what do you do?" He asked
"Oh I'm nurse actually."
He smiled, "so you're smart then."
You laughed, "I wouldn't say that."
He nudged you on the arm, "oh come on don't be modest."
"Modesty," you nudged him back, "you act like you're not the greatest of all time."
"I have help."
"What about you? Besides football?"
He looked like he was in deep thought, "nobody ever asks me that, you know? Football is my life."
"Well, you're good at what you love." You commented.
"It's gets lonely." He added starring off into space.
"How so?"
"It's rare you make a real connection with someone, maybe that's just the way I am." He told you scooting closer to you on the bench.
"You don't like being famous?" You asked him.
"No it's not that...nobody understands."
"I understand, I mean it seems like everyone wants something from you."
He looked into your eyes for what seemed like hours before he spoke up again.
"Violet, it's the strangest thing, but I feel like I can talk to, tell you things I can't tell other people."
You were blown away by this, you just only met the man a few minutes ago.
"I like to listen." You assured.
He laughed and finally broke eye contact with you.
"You're a sweet girl Violet."
You blushed again, "You're not too bad yourself Tommy."
Suddenly Jackie came waltzing over, causing both you and Tom to separate slightly, and blush a deep red.
"Am I interrupting anything?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows.
"Well," Tom started looking at you, "Maybe."
After he said that, you knew you were grinning like an idiot but you couldn't help it.
"Well Violet, can you find a ride? I'm going home with someone..." She trailed on looking towards the tunnel where Rob was standing.
"Oh I see, I'll find a ride." I assured her.
"You." Jackie pointed at Tom, "Be a gentlemen make sure she gets home." He raised his hands up in defense as she left you two alone again.
"You don't have to give me a ride you know." You told him after some time had passed.
"Sure I do, I promised your friend."
You laughed again
"You have a nice laugh." He commented.
"Are you flirting with me?"
He blushed and looked away, "Violet, I really want to talk some more, but I know I smell."
"No doubt about that."
He pretend to be offended, "So I'm going to shower and you'll be here waiting for me when I'm done?" He nervously, almost childlike.
"How else will I get home?"
"Walk me to the locker room?" He asked standing, holding his hand out.
"Of course." You took his hand and the two of you disappeared into the tunnel, secretly thanking the heavens you and Jackie won those tickets.
