Pooch and I arrived before the rest of the team. We were waiting in the hanger when a bright yellow car pulled up. Actually, I think "car" is too nice of a word. Even saying "lemon" would be too nice. It was a complete junker.

"Could they have gotten a brighter car?" I muttered to Pooch. He chuckled to himself as Clay, Roque, Aisha and Jensen climbed out of the car. "How the hell did it hold all four of them? It looks like it can barley hold itself."

Pooch shook his head, still laughing, as he approached the team. "Fellas, you're not gonna believe this shit."

"I saw Wade," I said.

"Wade Travis?" Clay questioned. "Seventh group?"

"The very same. He was trying to shoot us down when we took the van."

"Who's Wade Travis?" asked Aisha.

"Ran counter gorilla ops with him," Pooch replied. "Let's just say, he's a bad guy."

"I thought you were bad guys."

"He's worst," Cougar replied.

There was a brief silence. I was still stunned. I couldn't believe Wade Travis was there. He had to be with Max. Why else would be try to shoot us down when we took the van? Other than the fact we were stealing the van and kidnapping his possible boss, but besides that.

"Alright, well right now we need to deal with the heavily armed, evil genius inside this truck," Roque said. "Come on."

"Wouldn't call him a genius," I said as we approached the van. "Evil is a bit of a stretch, too. More like somewhat mean, slightly smart guy."

Behind me, someone chuckled and said, "Nice one."

I turned to see Jensen was the one who spoke. And he was still smiling. Like, a genuine smile, not a forced one. He didn't seem as pissed as he did earlier.

"Thanks," I said, attempting to smile back.

I felt someone nudge me and I looked up at Pooch. "Mind holding off on your flirting? We've got an asshole to take care of."

"Of course," I said. "My apologies."

Pooch smiled and I couldn't help but smile back for real. Things were really beginning to get back to normal. And once Max was dead and we were back to our lives, they'd be back for real.

"You ready?" Clay asked.

Aisha climbed onto the truck and hooked a hose into the nozzle.

"Open the valve," she said. Clay did as she said and the gas was pumped into the truck.

Clay pulled the seal from the doors and they popped open. Men flooded out, dressed in protective gear with guns raised.

"Hit the ground or I'll blow your hear off," the lead man growled at Clay.

"I don't think so," Clay responded.

Our cue. We stepped out from around the van, guns raised, and shot the other men. However, we decided instead of killing, we just loaded our guns with needles that would render them unconscious. The last man standing was Clay's opponent.

"Where is he?" Clay asked.

"Who?" the man asked.

"Max."

"Who the hell is Max?"

Without hesitation, the leader was shot and unconscious as well. Aisha was quick to attempt to explain herself.

"I can explain," she sighed.

"Shut up!" Clay snapped. "Jensen, open it."

Cougar had pulled the real cargo from inside the van; a big white box. Roque and I raised our guns to Aisha, not letting her out of our sights.
