The plan was put into action not too long after. We figured we had no time to waste, it was now or never.
We all broke off into teams; Pooch was in the van, waiting for our escape and on look out for anyone who might be coming, Clay and Roque were the first to get into the base to give us the go ahead, Cougar, as usual, was on standby with his gun and his amazing eyesight, and finally, Jensen and I were tasked with getting into the computer room.
I just want to make it clear that I did not choose this. Neither did Jensen. We were assigned to one another. Although the look Clay gave me led me to believe it was more than just a coincidence.
"We're in," came Clay's voice in my ear. "Status?"
"The Pooch is good," came Pooch's response.
"The Pooch is referring to himself in the third person again," I told Jensen with a chuckle.
We were getting ready to make "the great run". At least, that's what Jensen was calling it. Basically, Jensen and I had to run, climb some buildings, and drop into the main base without getting caught. For me, it was nothing. It should be nothing for Jensen, too, considering he's got muscles for days, and this isn't the first time he's had to climb some buildings, but he was still acting as if it were a big deal.
"I'll race you," he told me with a slight smirk on his face. "First one into the base wins a night of fun, sexy times."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Sounds like a win-win situation. You're on."
The two of us took off together, climbing the fire escape to the first building, before running to the edge and jumping off. Luckily, there was a stack of wood and crates to catch our fall.
I hit the ground before Jensen and took off for our next obstacle, a chain link fence complimented with some barbed wire on top. Behind that was another ladder that would lead us to the top of the main base.
I was already to the top of the fence and starting to climb the ladder when I heard Jensen grabbing for it first. I looked over my shoulder just to see how far ahead I was getting, a playful giggle releasing from my lips without any warning. However, I was met with the sight of Jensen's foot being caught in the fence, and him wiggling it uncontrollably to try and free himself. The only thing this was truly doing was making more noise.
I noticed a guard turning the corner and pointing his gun and Jensen. I started fumbling for my own handgun, realizing I left it in the van with Pooch.
Luckily, amazing ol' Cougar was on the look out and took the guy down before he could take us down. I sent a quick wink his way before continuing up the ladder to the roof, Jensen now following close behind.
We went through a skylight, connecting our grappling hooks to something sturdy before lowering ourselves down. We were right next to each other at this point, but my feet still touched the ground before his did.
I smirked. "I believe that means I won."
Jensen chuckled and kissed my forehead. "I'll give you your rewards after we complete this mission."
He winked at me and gave me a little tap on the butt. I raised my eyebrow at him, but he already had his back turned to me. That cheeky bastard is starting to get a little brave.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it, though.
Jensen walked towards the door, where Clay and Roque were waiting.
"What's the password?" he asked playfully as he started to unlock the door.
"Let us in or I'll kill you," came Roque's response.
