Korrine's POV

The limousine that all the guys pitched in to rent pulls in front of the hotel that the homecoming dance is being held in. Anxiety is running through me as I wait for the door to open so that we can all step out. Marcus grabs my hand and begins massaging it with his thumb because I'm sure he can tell that I'm nervous.

The door opens and Mike and Dejah are the first couple to get out. Dejah's wearing a long dark blue, tight fitting, long sleeve dress that hugs her breast and curves while revealing her back with its x-cut out. Michael's wearing an all-black suit with a dark blue vest and tie. Following them is Jada and Marlon. Jada's wearing a long, tight fitting pink dress with sheer, see-through sides and no sleeves. Marlon's wearing an all gray suit with a pink tie and handkerchief. Arianna and Xavier get out next. Arianna's wearing a two piece yellow dress. The top is mesh with thin straps and halter that hugs her breast and the bottom is long with a split on the left leg. Xavier's wearing an all-black suit with a yellow bow tie and handkerchief. Marisol and Jessie make their way out after them. Marisol's dress is black, long, and strapless with a split down the right leg.

"You ready, baby?" Marcus whispers into my ear.

"Yes," I say, pecking his lips before letting him lead the way out of limo. He grabs my hand and slowly pulls me out of the car. My feet land on a red carpet that leads to the hotel entrance.

My dress is ivory and long with a small train in the back. It's decorated with intricate lace around the breast and stomach area, and the back is out from my back dimples to the end of my neck with a line a lace trailing down my spine. It hugs my hips and gives my backside and extra lift.

"You look gorgeous. I'm proud to be standing next to you," Marcus says, holding his arm out for me to hold onto. He's wearing an all-white suite with a black collar, black bow tie, and black vest.

I grab onto his arm and my lips curl into a smile. "You look amazing. I love you so much," I say.

"I love you too," he says. "Let's go make some people jealous."

He guides me into the hotel and we make a right, following the couples walking into the ballroom. I recognize several people from school, and many of the couples look great, while some of them look a hot mess.

The interior of the ballroom is as beautiful as ever with its celebrity red carpet theme. There are photographers everywhere taking pictures and even getting interviews on camera from students and staff. We make it to the table where everyone came to sit, and I take seat next to Dejah. "How about y'all guys go get us some drinks please?" I say with a smile.

Mike shakes his head. "My girl ain't thirsty. You got a man you can send."

I roll my eyes and give Dejah a look. Something has been bothering me since we left my house and I need to let them know right now so I can get it off my chest. "Actually, I am thirsty. Aren't y'all thirsty, ladies?" she asks, looking at the rest of the girls who all catch on pretty quickly and nod.

Marcus laughs. "Come on and let's go get these beautiful ladies some drinks before some other niggas come snatch them up," he says, walking away to the food and drinks area with the guys following behind him.

I let out a sigh of relief and relax into the chair. "I'm worried about Trey," I admit.

"Why is that?" Jada asks.

"He's been acting weird with me lately, and he didn't show up to ride with us here like he was supposed to," I say.

Dejah raises her eyebrows. "What do you mean he's been acting weird with you?"

Maybe I'm just blowing things out of proportion and I shouldn't tell them what's going on between Trey and I. In fact, it shouldn't be a problem because there isn't anything going on between us. I have a boyfriend who happens to be Trey's best friend. Besides, these are my girls. It's not like they're going to go run and tell Marcus.

"It's just that we've had some moments where stuff has almost happened," I say, not thinking before I spoke. "No, that didn't sound right."

"It sure didn't. What almost happened between you and Trey?" Arianna asks, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yeah, what almost happened?" Marcus asks, gaining my attention. Him and the guys just made it back to the table with drinks in their hands. He sets mine down and takes a seat next to me, never breaking eye contact.

If Marcus finds out any of this, I know he won't understand. I don't even understand it myself. The last thing I want is to cause altercations between the two of them because I know that wouldn't be good, but this isn't my fault. Trey is sending me all these mixed signals,

"Umm, we just got into this stupid argument a couple days ago," I say.

It's not completely a lie. We did get into a small argument at my house before he stormed out my house last Sunday, but it just wasn't a couple days. To be honest, Trey and I haven't spoken since that day. I've texted him a few times, but he hasn't responded and he's been avoiding me at school. Even in the class that we both have with Marcus, he'll only talk to him and say little things to me so that it won't be noticeable to Marcus.

"What y'all arguing for?" he asks.

"He was just made because I kept getting on his head about finding a date here. You know how stubborn he is. Don't worry about it," I say, kissing his lips and then picking up the drink and taking a sip so that I won't have to speak anymore.

"Speaking of the devil, there that nigga go right there," Xavier says, pointing to the entrance doors.

I look towards the doors and sure enough, here comes Trey walking in. He looks just as handsome as ever with his black tux, red vest, and red rose sticking out of his pocket. He stands out without even having somebody on his arm. Our eyes meet and he stares at me with a blank expression. I wonder what he's thinking in his mind right now.

"Trey, get over here!" Marcus yells over the music.

Trey cracks a smile and walks over to us. "What's the deal, ladies and gents. Y'all looking real good tonight," he says.

"You look really nice yourself, Trey," I say, grinning at him, but he just nods without saying anything or looking at me. I'm really getting tired of his funny little attitude.

"I know y'all ain't gonna just sit down all night?" he says.

Mike shakes his head. "Hell nah. We about to get out there and get live," he says, standing up and grabbing Dejah's hand.

Trey laughs. "I am too, but I got to go outside real quick. I'll be back," he says, walking off.

"You want to go dance, ma?" Marcus whispers in my ear, but I'm too focused on trying to see where Trey went.

"Yes, baby, but I have to go pee real quick. I'll be back," I say.

I get up and quickly head out of the ballroom just in time to see Trey standing in front of the hotel doors. It doesn't look like he's waiting for anything in particular or anybody, but he's just standing there. Maybe he knew that I would follow him out here if he brushed me long enough. Maybe this is all just a trap and I'm falling right into it.

"Trey!" I yell, getting closer to him. He faces me and lets out a dry laugh while grabbing my hand and pulling me outside of the hotel.
