Michael's POV

Man, I know Ren hates me for all of this. I basically put her in the position to get hurt. The idea didn't sound as bad at the time. I thought that everything would be cool, but I guess I wasn't thinking shit through.

We're in the car on the way to the warehouse, and ain't nobody saying or even looking my way. They're more angry than me, and it's my sister. I know they've watched her grow up since they've been my boys since were kids, even before we got in the streets, but they don't even know her like that. But I know it's just that fact that I did this dumb shit. I would be mad at the nigga that did it too.

"The alert gonna make yo' phone vibrate. I'm 'bout to send it to y'all right now to make sure it work," X says. He sends it out and within seconds everybody's phone starts to vibrate, except for mine.

I reach into my pocket to get it so that I can see what's up, but it's not here. "Damn. I left my phone at the spot," I say, shaking my head.

X looks back at me with a screw. "Man, you fucking up. Let us out so we can go get this nigga phone. Come with us, Trey," he says.

The homie stops the car, and we get out. Trey and X look at me like I'm stupid as we quickly start running back to the spot. When we get there, I look around the yard to make sure ain't nobody looking suspect in the cars. When the coast is clear, we rush into the house. I head towards the couch and start searching through the cushions for my phone while they watch the outside from the windows. I finally find it and check it to see I have a bunch of text messages from random females, my mom, Dejah, and two from Jessie. I check his first.

Jessie: get out the house, they bout to come

Jessie: y'all better be gone cause its bout to happen

Those messages was sent over twenty minutes ago, and I know for sure they ain't raided this shit yet. That means it can happen any minute, and we have to get the hell out of here.

"Damn, man. We got some company!" Trey yells. It's too late.

"Fuck!" I shout. I walk to the window and pull them both to the ground. "Load y'all guns. This ain't no game," I tell them.I take my gun out and cock it back, getting ready to shot. I get up and walk over to one side of the door while they get behind me. As soon as they start shooting, we make our way out the door and start firing back. It's like three cars full of them, but the one that stands out is Jessie coming from out the hood of car. When we make eye contact, his eyes widen, and he stops shooting.

They shooting at us like the police. I dive to the ground, Trey gets behind the fence, and X goes towards the side of the house. The gunfight last for about five minutes. I can hear crack heads and prostitutes screaming and yelling from a distance. I let out a sigh of relief when they finally pull off. I get up and run out to the street to see if they all the way gone, and Trey and X come up beside me. "That shit was crazy," Trey says, shaking his head. "Wasn't ole boy supposed to be helping us? That nigga was shooting too."

"He was helping. We was supposed to be when they got here, but we had to come back to get my phone," I admit.

He smacks his lips. "Nah, my nigga. That's some bullshit. He ain't for us."

I put the code in my phone and go to the texts messages, then I throw it to him so he can see for himself. "He sent those like half an hour ago, warning us to be out."

"Man, fuck those warnings. I almost got shot."

"I know, but right now we got to get of here," I tell him. They nod and we start to walk back into the yard to get the car parked in the back. I start to think that I'm tripping when I hear wheels getting closer and closer, so I quickly turn around and it's them swerving back down the street again. Trey walking in front of me with his backs turned which mean he can't even see, but X looking too. It's all happening so fast that I can't even get no words out. I just see Jessie coming from out the top of the hood with a gun. What the fuck he doing? "Trey!" I yell, but it's too late.

Shots get fired and then next thing I know, Trey's falling to the ground. I hear two more shots, a loud thud, and then the car speeds off again. I turn around to see X with his gun pointed towards where Jessie is lying on the ground. It don't take a genius to know that he shot him. I run over to him while X run over to Trey, glaring at me. What can I say? I need some answers.

When I get close to him, he's breathing real heavy and his eyes are starting to close. He has a bullet in his arm and blood coming from out his stomach, but it's not from a bullet."They...made me...do it," he manages to say while spitting up blood. "He...stabbed me."

I shake my head at the sight. I don't know if he gone live or die. "It's straight, man. I'm 'bout to get you to the hospital," I tell him. I get up and start to drag his body towards the lawn. "How he doing?" I ask X.

"He unconscious, man. I think he got him close to his heart," he says sadly, dropping his head in his hands.

Hearing those words make me feel like I got shot too. Me and Trey wasn't never really that close, but when it comes down to it, he was my homie, and I looked out for him because he was a youngin' like my sister. Now it seem like I let him and Ant down. Ant told me not to let nobody get hurt, and I still did. Jessie hurt, my sister hurt, and it seem like Trey might die. "Come on, man. Let's get them to the hospital!" I yell. I pick Jessie up while he pick up Trey, and we carry them to the car. In a hurry, we get in and drive off to the nearest hospital.
