I set myself free,
from your strong grip,
my heart had been shattered,
yet i still hung on,
wondering what i could do,
to fix our broken love,
i wondered,
what did i do wrong,
then i realized,
the chains wrapped around my wrists,
were not locked anymore,
there i was,
i had been set free,
i hesitated,
not sure exactly what would happen when i left,
i was scared,
of being alone,
of not being able to find my way back to the light,
i had been locked in the darkness,
i had been chained down,
but i looked up,
and i saw a steep hill,
but at the very top,
i saw the light,
i knew that was where i needed to get,
i knew i could do it on my own,
i knew i had the strength,
but it turns on,
i had help,
as i was climbing up,
i helped someone come along with me,
once they were able to stand,
they held my hand,
we climbed together,
we finally reached the top,
and after that experience,
we have such a strong bond,
it truly is unbreakable.
