Keep in mind that in the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh! (season 0), Duel Monsters was played in battle boxes or on a paper field made up of different terrains of fields. The first scene takes place where Yugi and the others go after school in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 1999, 30 minute movie... I never could find the name of the place.
The chapters are kind of long but I couldn't find a good stopping point in the middle so I made each episode one chapter.
Hope you Enjoy! :)
________
~Chloe's POV~
I was supposed to be focusing upon the task at hand... and I was. The problem was, it was the wrong task to be attending to. How did I get here in the first place? Wasn't I supposed to be going to some secret-special-off-the-radar-location? But here I was, playing Duel Monsters with some stranger who had challenged me about an hour ago. The guy kept challenging me because I was a girl that looked the age of eight... the guy was a grown man and couldn't take the fact that this 'little girl', at the age of 14 (almost 15), had whooped his ass seven times in a row... make that eight. I pulled my unnaturally black colored hair behind my ear as my slightly tanned skin almost glittered as I moved to do so.
I had originally been following one of the palace guardians that was designated to be my guide. However, I stopped to sightsee for a little less than five seconds, turned to follow them again, but stopped short when my guide had disappeared. I had always heard that if you ever get lost to stay put... so that's exactly what I had done... the smartest thing to do? Probably not. But it was either stand outside where everyone could see me or go inside where it was much safer... I'd would of used the word 'fun', but my opponent wasn't even a challenge and was really beginning to bore me... make that nine times in a row. Don't get me wrong, the guy had talent, but when you've been playing Duel Monster's all your life, a duel like this was child's play.
Growing up within a palace and being a royal princess, you had plenty of time on your hands... when you weren't doing basic study, foreign language, self defense, sword play, dance, etiquette, and magic lessons. I had grown up with most of my time to myself. My studies were always passed with flying colors, seeing as I had a photographic memory. Dance was something I had always enjoyed and had taken it upon myself to learn. But even with all of this, I was still missing one thing... a best friend. It was something I had never truly had. I had friends, but they had to be, because they were my servants. That or they were part of the other lower royal branches within the Egyptian empire and I hardly ever got to see them.
The man before me had snapped me out of my thoughts when he had slammed down his cards in a tizzy. I couldn't figure out why until I had looked down at my cards on the field... I had won again... for the tenth time in a row. "But how?! You're just a little girl!" I pursed my lips as my brows furrowed, "I'm fourteen, almost fifteen." He continued the hysterics as I noticed two men in black suits calmly walk into the game center.
I panicked for a split second before I snatched my cards up, and calmly got up and left the battle box. Before I got too far, the suits approached me replying with a worried tone, "We've been looking everywhere for you! We were afraid we lost you!" By this point, my face gave away that I was scared... did I mention I had an act for acting? The one on the left began to reach for me, and before he could actually touch my shoulder I let out an ear piercing scream that got everyone's attention. "Who are you?! Help! They're trying to kidnap me!" The game center went on high alert as the men of all ages got to their feet to try and help. While they were preoccupied, I made a run for it, still acting like I was terrified.
I ran out the door and down the sidewalk, taking turns left and right. I honestly had no idea where I was running to. I stopped for a short break, but it was short lived as I heard a, "There she is! Don't let her get away!" I ran again. I didn't look back. But my acting began to fade as I really had become scared... I hadn't the slightest idea of why they were after me. Nor what they would do to me if they caught me. I just kept running. It seemed to take hours to try and lose them... how many black suit bastards were there? I turned a corner to find that it was crowded with teenagers, possibly my age. I wove through them, catching most of their attention. "Excuse me, pardon me," I kept repeating. I turned back to get a glimpse of my pursuers for just a moment before I ran into someone and fell to the ground beside them.
