~Chloe's POV~

It was another warm day in Domino City. Everything actually seemed alright for a change. Everyone's spirits seemed to be lifted... all except for Yugi's. Sure, he seemed like his happy go lucky self, but I knew that Yami's presence was still bugging him to an extent. Of course, he hadn't asked me again if he seemed alright after we visited Aileen Rao.

In any case, Yugi had found trouble once again, as he had made a friend about two weeks ago. The kid was bullied, much like Yugi had been, making Yugi feel the responsibility to befriend him. But, one day, the kid, Imori, seemed to had a change in personality. A darker personality. He had then led Yugi to play a dangerous game of Dragon Block... Of course, being Yugi, he possibly saw no harm. I say possibly because I had been helping Joey with homework that day. Needless to say, I did sense Yami emerge from the puzzle as both of the boys had returned home safely. I just hope the game was destroyed, hidden, or locked away.

Yugi and I had gotten up, doing our normal morning routines before heading out to school. Once there, we met up with the gang and headed straight to our shoe lockers. As I headed to my locker, I found Miho pulling out several love letters from her own locker. "Popular as always," Téa noted to Miho. "You can have it then," Miho offered, handing out the letter's toward Téa. "W-w-wait a moment," Téa backed up, refusing to take the letters. "It's annoying," Miho pouted. Téa just gave her a small laugh.

An unfamiliar voice then spoke up snottily from behind me, "I'm jealous you get that much." Turning around, I found a click of three girls. One was a orange haired girl, another was a short back headed girl, as the third was a dirty blonde with glasses. The girl with the orange hair had opened her locker as love letters, gifts, and small packages tumbled out. "I get sick of dealing with this every day," the orange haired girl scoffed. "Unless you do something about your beauty, it's hopeless, Kaoruko," The dirty blonde replied. "I suppose so," The orange haired girl smirked as they all then turned to the three of us.

"Wow," Miho marveled. "Just what you expect from Domino High's number one popular girl, Kaoruko Himekoji. There's nothing plain about her," Téa replied. "I see nothing special about her," I shrugged turning to my locker. "You and your opinions," Téa waved off. However, when I opened my locker, I swore more things came raining out of my locker than the most popular girl's behind us... and there was no doubt they had seen everything. "It seems Chloe is much more popular than Kaoruko," Miho chirped, amazed by all the gifts and letters. I was dumbfounded. Sure I received the usual handful of love letters like Miho, but I never had this much!

I soon switched my shoes and swiftly disposed of all the gifts and letters. As much as I didn't want to hurt some guy's feelings, I couldn't respond to this many. Besides, I was sure none of them actually knew me nor tried to get the chance to know me. There was no way I was even going to confront them. If they wanted to confess, they could come to me personally... unfortunately, I'd still have to break their hearts.

Téa, Miho, and I all walked down the hall as we soon ran into Joey, who was also hung up in a large body of students. "What's going on?" I asked. "I don't know. This is sudden... the student body sure has a lot of free time," Joey commented, trying to see what all the fuss was about. I moved up through the crowd, being short had its perks, as I soon met up with Yugi, who seemed to have also wiggled his way through the crowd. "Participants...Popularity contest..." Yugi read to himself, "The prize are tickets to the musical 'Beauty and the Beast'." I could feel myself smile, "Really?! I've always wanted to see that musical!" "Why don't you apply, Chloe?" Yugi suggested. "I think I will. Plus, it sounds really fun. I've never been in a popularity contest before!" I smiled.
