I found myself again as the girl in my visions and dreams. I was possibly around the same age as I had last found the girl in. However, I was walking out with a few children around into the garden court yard I had been sitting in before. The sun was beating down in it's all glorious manner as the children swarmed me, asking question after question. I held a little girl, about the age of three, on my hip, and held a young boy's hand, around the age of five.
But at a glance, anyone could tell that these children weren't royal blood, but servants of the palace in which they lived. Their cloths were torn, tattered, and dusty from the land in which they worked. I, however, looked happy to have them in my presence as I took a seat in my shaded spot and ushered the children to follow in suit to take shelter from Ra's harsh rays.
"So, what's he like?" One of the children asked. "Is he kind and sweet?" A little girl asked. "Is it true you are his betrothed?" A boy around the age of eight asked in excitement. I giggled, settling the three year old girl in my lap, "One at a time children." "Tell us! What's he like?!" A few of them chorused. I giggled again, but answered anyway, "Well, he is kind and sweet. He is gentle yet protective, brave, and strong. He's very caring of those around him. But most of all, he is true of heart."
The girls around me giggled as they boys awed at the description. "But is it true you are to be wed to him?" The eight year old boy asked again, a small smile playing on his lips, "We have heard many rumors, but we want to know if it is indeed true." I laughed at this lightly, "Yes, Ankhu, it is true." His smile widened, "Then you will be his queen. The Queen of Egypt!" The girls eyes filled with admiration as I smiled to Ankhu, "Yes, I will be when he becomes Pharaoh."
"What's it like being a princess?" Another little girl asked, eyes full of wonder, like the rest. "Well," I mused, "as much as I am thankful for my lineage and position, there is not much for me to do. It's much more productive to be a servant girl or boy." "Really?" Some of the children gasped. "Why is that?" a different boy asked. "Well, my role won't officially take place until I become Queen," I summarize. I should have known though, as they would ask, "Why?" again. I giggled to myself, "Well, it will be my job as the Prince's Queen to make sure he has an heir." "An heir?" They questioned, not understanding the term. "A son right?" Ankhu clarified. I nodded, "That's right."
At this the children had more questions. Little had I known that the Crown Prince himself and his advisor, a boy with long brown hair and blue eyes and looked around the same age as Yami and I, had come through the opening of the garden to also enjoy the afternoon. Needless to say, they had heard most of the conversation. "How can she stand those filthy, little servants?" the advisor growled under his breath. He looked horrifyingly too much like the present day Seto Kaiba. "Come now, she lived with these children for the past five years. From what I hear from the elder servants, she is very fond of them as they are of her," Yami chuckled. "At least you know she'll be a good mother," the brunette grudgingly replied, "It seems like she's had plenty of practice." Yami had a blush cover his face at the mere thought of I becoming the mother of his children.
Some of the children had noticed by now that the Prince was standing not far off. The girls continued to giggle amongst themselves as some of the younger boys began to gag, not finding the idea of romance appealing. I had taken notice as well, taking note that the advisor did not give an pleased eye at the children. "Alright," I smiled, "let's get back to your duties." The boys jumped up and raced off as the girls took one last look at Yami and his advisor before giggling once more and running off as well.
Yami took this as an indicator to approach, his friend not too far behind him. As I got to my feet, Ankhu spoke up, "I can get them all back. Leave it to me, my Lady." I huffed at him, "How many times must I tell you-" He cut me off with a bow, "It is simply my place. I mean no disrespect." I sighed with a smile, "Very well." "Everything alright?" Yami asked, making it to my side. "None at all, my Prince," Ankhu replied, then turned to me, "I'll take Aya now." The child whimpered but I gave her my hand, "Take her to Akila, she'll know how to care for her in my absence." "Yes, my Lady," he bowed shortly to the three of us, "My Prince. Priest Seto."
