(Madhu's POV)
I got ready as the sun began to set, preparing for the supposedly lovely time I was to have tonight. Armaan had sent me a bright red sari, heavily sequined and elegant. He wished for me to wear it to match with the rose. This was disgusting. Why was I doing this again? I much rather be having dinner with RK. I sulked and lazily slapped on makeup. His driver was going to pick me up.
He messaged me once the driver arrived. I grabbed my purse and rushed out the door, not giving Trishna or Malik a single glance. I didn't have time to explain, not was I in the mood to.
I hopped in the car and fixed my hair. "Let's go driver." He nodded and started the car.
It was a silent ride, but I couldn't help feeling something was off. The driver kept staring at me, hiding his face with his cap. I looked at him suspiciously. He was taking me through a thick forest area, not a house or shop in sight. There was no one on the streets either.
"Where are you taking me?" I demanded. He remained silent. I repeated the question. "Where are we going?"
"I'll get you there safe and sound madam, don't worry." He sped up slightly. "You just relax."
"No one can live in such a secluded area. Tell me the truth."
"You'll see for yourself, madam. Sir will be very pleased to see you." He stared at me constantly through the mirror, giving me devious looks. We pulled up near an abandoned mansion and a grand courtyard. Lights of different colors emanated from the courtyard, and the sounds of a few men laughing could be hear. Armaan was no where in sight. I wasn't safe. My eyes widened in shock and I tried to open the car door and make my escape, but by then they were locked and a cloth was shoved over my nose and mouth. My vision blurred and all I could see was black.
(RK's POV)
Dipali was taking a hell of a long time ordering, giving me some time to check up on Madhu. I excused myself to go to the restroom and tried to call her. But her phone was switched off. Something didn't feel right, I could tell. I hope she is alright.
(Madhu's POV)
I woke up tied down to a metal post, arms and legs restrained. In front of me were two men playing cards and drinking. My head ached and my vision still wasn't clear. That driver had knocked me out with something. I tried to find my cellphone, but it was gone. I needed to call RK.
As if fate were with me, one of the men knocked his phone over on the ground. It was close enough to get a small grasp on it. I slid down the pole and reached for it with my feet, just barely touching it with my toe. It jumped closer, and I was able to pull it to me. I covered it with my sari as they turned towards me. I feigned unconsciousness to convince them to turn away. Once they did, I brought the phone to my hands. Typing backwards would be hard, but it wouldn't be impossible. I turned back and attempted to punch in his number and a quick message, but the men turned around again. I shoved the phone underneath the junk lying under me.
"Looks like our new madam is awake. Go tell Armaan sir." One nudged the other. I figured Armaan was behind this. "The bride needs to get ready."
Bride? Me?!
(RK's POV)
Armaan decided to make another phone call as I was ready to join Dipali again. I groaned and answered.
"What do you want now?" I hissed. He laughed to himself.
"Oh RK, I just wanted to give you a very personal invitation. To my wedding."
"To whom?" He laughed harder.
"To your once dearest Madhubala. Once she's mine, I'll have the right to make her life hell, and she won't be able to escape."
"You f**king bastard!" I yelled. Thankfully I was the only one in the restroom.
"Really hope you can make it. I'm sorry, I forgot to include the address in the invite. But I'm sure you can find it yourself." He mocked in sarcasm. "See you later RK. I have to get ready. My bride is waiting."
I stormed out of the restaurant, stepping on the gas as soon as I got in the car. Malik called me soon afterwards.
"RK, I need to show you something, relating to Madhu. It's urgent."
"Can you tell me over the phone Malik? I have no time to waste here."
"I understand why. What I need to show you will help. Trust me."
I sighed, but I had no choice but to listen. I had no leads anyways. I turned around and went straight to Madhu's house.
