Ally's POV:
I'm Ally Dawson, a typical 17 year old girl. My life, however, is not so typical.
I moved in with Austin Moon when I was 6. My parents wanted to move to Africa, but wanted me to go to school in Miami. Their good friends, Mr. And Mrs. Moon agreed to raise me in Miami, Florida.
My life has been good though, I'm not complaining. My parents visit often, but I call Austin's parents my own.
Austin is my age, and we have been best friends for as long as I can remember. He's a blondie, one of those guys that all the girls drool over at school...and at school, I'm the nerdy girl that always has her nose in a book.
But Austin looks out for me, and his family treats me like I'm a Moon myself.
However, being a Junior in High School hasn't been easy. The Junior Prom is coming up and still, no ones asked me. Not that I'm surprised, I've never been asked to a dance. I always end up going with friends.
Austin says that I should talk to the guy I've had my eye on, Dallas. But I'm totally awkward when it comes to talking to crushes. I don't want to freak the guy out!
Austin's POV:
I ran up to Ally who was picking her books up off the ground. Papers were scattered everywhere, and people weren't even stopping a bit to check out or ask if she needed assistance.
"What happened?" I asked bending down to help gather her things.
"Cassidy walked by and nocked my stuff out of my hands again," Ally explained, standing back up now that she had everything.
I huffed. People did stuff like this to Ally all the time and she just let them walk all over her. But it was mainly Cassidy. She's like the queen of the Junior class. Long blonde hair, and gorgeous blue eyes, she's got it all, well, except a decent personality.
"Are you ok?" I asked Ally, concerned.
"Yeah! I'm fine," she assured me waving her hand that wasn't filled with books.
"Want me to walk you to class?" I really wanted to. People don't mess with her when I'm around.
"No, you don't have to do that. But thanks," She smiled and waved before running off down the crowded hall swarming with students.
I walked to my class, thinking about poor Ally. Things should really change..
-Later that day-
When we were home from school, I had to talk to Ally about changing her treatment at school. I walked up to her room and knocked on the door.
"Come in," I heard her say.
I came in and sat on her bed next to her. She was on her laptop.
"Can I talk to you?" I asked hoping she would get off her computer and listen. Instead, she just nodded.
"I'm really worried about you, Alls. People are being so mean to you at school. You say you don't care, but I know you do cuz I know you," I was looking at her computer screen with her as I spoke.
Ally suddenly shut her lap top and turned to me. "Of course I care. But there's nothing I can do about it... Like everyone says, I'm just a week, ugly, nerd."
I cringed as she said those things about herself. None if them were true, yet she believed them because that's what she was told everyday.
"You're not a week, ugly, nerd," I sighed,"You're a strong, pretty, smart girl. I wish you could see that."
Ally frowned and looked at me. "You don't have to say nice things just because you're my best friend."
I shook my head. "I'm not saying nice things just because I'm your best friend. I mean everything."
"I just want the best for you, Ally," I mumbled.
She smiled her sweet, caring smile and hugged me. I love her hugs. "Thank you, Austin. But I'll be ok. Ill let you know if I'm not ok, I promise."
I nodded, not fully believing her. But I left anyways. Ill just have to stick up for her, of she won't stick up for herself.
