Embarrassed

Austin's POV:

I had my arms wrapped around Ally, pulling her to me. As I laid there, I couldn't help daydreaming. I pictured us sneaking out to go to that pond we always used to. Holding hands in public, trying new things, discovering even more about each other, and eventually, me proposing.

Woah, Austin. That's a bit too far.

I shook my head to erase the thoughts like an etch-a-sketch, immediately embarrassed to have thought about something like that. I looked down at Ally's head on my chest. She would laugh at me for days if she knew that's what I thought about.

But I'm sure she's fantasized before, even if it wasn't about me. Dallas was probably that lucky guy.

Suddenly, I heard a low hum from Ally. After a second I recognized the tune as Best Song Ever by One Direction.

I started humming it with her, and we just chilled.

Well, until the door opened. My moms eyes grew a little wider at the sight of us. We immediately jumped apart in panic. Ally sprung so far from me that I couldn't reach her in arms length.

I gave my Mom an innocent smile, tilting my head a little bit to the right (it tends to make her think I'm an angel.)

She cleared her throat. "I came in here to ask if you wanted anything at the store.."

"Um, yeah, I want some more pancake mix," I replied awkwardly.

"Of course," my mom said rolling her eyes and beginning to shut the door before pausing,"Lets keep the doors open from now on, k?" With that she walked off.

Ally and I turned to each other, holding back hysteric laughter.

"Does she really think we'd...," her voice cracked as she bursted out laughing, incapable of finishing her sentence.

By the time all the laughter died down, we both had tears in our eyes.

"Oh my gosh, what if she tells my mom?" Ally asked, sounding a little worried. "What if she makes it sound like we were about to have sex or something?"

I chuckled. "Doubt it. How can you stretch cuddling to that?"

She shrugged. "Then my mom would give me this long awwwkkkwaarrddd talk about why to use protection every single time," she blushed.

"Yeah um my mom would make us keep every door open in the whole house, even when changing," I joked.

Ally's face was straight. "It's not funny. I don't want my mom to think of me as that type of girl."

She was gradually getting closer to me again.

I gulped and nodded. "You're not that type of girl, I'm not even that type of guy. There's no need to worry."

She smiled a little and flipped some of her hair back out of her face. "I know, I know. Man, I can't believe we're talking about this like its nothing."

"It's diffidently not nothing," I scoffed, scooting closer to her.

She nodded and kept her eyes on something in front of her.

I put my arm back to lean a little, but she apparently had the same idea because my hand landed straight on hers. We both jumped at the contact. After several moments, I slowly looked up at her, just to see her watching our hands. I slowly moved mine away.

"Sorry," i whispered.

She moved her hand away seconds later even though mine was long gone. "It's okay."

Her cheeks were like cherries, very very red. I even felt mine burning up.

"Well," she said, standing up and brushing herself off,"I've got homework to do..."

"Ha ha ha ha me too... what a coincidence?" I tried to say slyly, only making things more awkward.

Ally gave me a strange look, and I got one last glimpse of her reddened face before she exited my room rather quickly.
