Ally's POV:

After that incident I didn't see Austin for the rest of the night and Trish finally dropped the topic.

I took forever to fall asleep, my mind wouldn't shut up.

The next morning, I woke up super early, around 8:00, and couldn't fall back asleep. I got up, letting Trish continue sleeping, while I crept downstairs to eat breakfast.

But when I entered the kitchen, I was surprised to see Austin already up, eating cereal, at the table. His blonde hair was going in all directions and he had nothing on but boxers, like always.

"You're up early," I noted, pouring myself a bowl of cereal.

"I couldn't sleep," he said, in his morning voice. It was really cute, I had never payed any attention to it before now.

"Why's that?" I asked, sitting at the table with him.

"I was thinking too much."

I nodded and took a bite of cereal.

Was he thinking about me? It was probably Cassidy. Its always Cassidy.

There was an awkward vibe, I could feel it. Neither of us said anything.

I stole a few glances at Austin, in a new light. My eyes trailed over his broad, muscular chest and his strong arms, and I realized just how gorgeous he was.

One of the times I was in the middle of studying him, Austin was already looking at me. Oops. After that, I was in a hurry to finish my cereal and leave. I quickly rinsed out my bowl and walked up the stairs. I was half way there when I heard my name.

"Ally?" He called after me. I paused.

"Yes?"

"So we're not gonna talk about what happened last night?" He asked.

I slowly made my way back down.

"Listen, you have a girlfriend. I'm you're best friend. I know we aren't like that, and I know what you did was a mistake. Don't worry," I lied. It hurt to hear those words come out of my own mouth.

He broke eye contact to look at the ground.

Austin's POV:

She thought what I did was an accident. It was no accident.

I should've known Ally would do this. She has my heart now and she doesn't even know she's smashing it to pieces.

But it's not her fault, it's mine. I'm letting myself chase her while she turns away. And I know she's going to.

I'm just setting myself up for heartbreak.

"Yeah, a mistake..," I repeated trailing off.

She nodded and whirled around. I watched her brown hair bounce with each step she took further and further away from me, and then all that could be heard in the whole house were the thuds of her feet going up the stairs.

I was left confused as to what to do next. We'll both be 18 in a month. (Our birthdays are 3 days apart, Cool, right?) But we're both old for our grade level so we'll graduate at 19. An extra year of living under parents' rules.

If Ally didn't live with us, and if she was just a girl at school, I'd totally go out with her. But she does live with us, and, who knows what my parents would do if they found out anything. Probably have her live somewhere else, which I don't want.

I'm too used to seeing her everyday.

Besides, Allys like a daughter to my parents. She's lived here almost 12 years. I can't do that to them.

If I can hang on for one more year before we both move out, it'll be a good time to make a move. But I can't hang on that long!

I know I can make Ally fall for me... But it'll have to he done in secret.....
