Talking

Ally's POV:

"So Ally, who was your first kiss?" Trish asked me, sitting on my bed for our sleep over.

I tried thinking of a way to back out before giving up. I had to tell her. "Austin."

Trish's jaw dropped.

You see, when Austin and I were like ten, we went through a little faze where we liked each other. It literally only lasted about two weeks. We were young and naive, what can I say?

Anyways, he kissed me, in the old tree in our backyard that's cut down now. It was just a little peck. We swore to never tell anyone, but it's Trish here.

I had to explain everything to her so she understood.

"Ok, well good to know that you and Austin have had a thing before..." She said.

I rolled my eyes. It was elementary school!

Austin's POV:

"So, I know you and Allys secret you've hid from everyone," Trish whispered to me in the hall.

"What?" I was worried.

"I know about your kiss."

I sat there a moment before remembering sitting in the tree and kissing Ally. But that shouldn't even count, it was a long time ago!

"Yeah....what about it?" I whispered.

She shrugged. "I'm watching you two, I got my eyes peeled."

My eyebrows furrowed as I returned back to my room. And then I started thinking back to the time when I liked Ally.

5th grade. All I know is that I thought she looked pretty one day, and then I kinda started to get a small crush. But she found out because I told Dez (never do that).

He insisted that he was 'the love whisperer' and that he could make Ally like me too. And I guess she did for awhile. Then we both kind of grew up, and I started getting more interested in girls and Ally met Dallas.

So it's something we don't really talk about, because we're best friends and...it's awkward.

I wonder if Ally remembers any of that? She has to, right? I was her first crush, haha. But maybe that didn't really count cuz it was so short-lived. And then I realized something else. How does Trish know about our secret that we swore we'd never tell?!

Later, I got Ally alone, in the backyard while Trish conversed with my Mom inside.

It was almost pitch black outside, I could hardly see Ally right in front of me. But it was good, it felt private.

"Hey Ally, I was just wondering why you," I paused a second to think of the right thing to say," why you told Trish our secret."

"What secret?" She asked, walking around the porch. The sun had gone down and the moon was in the sky.

"The kiss."

She immediately knew what I was talking about.

"Oh, that. I thought it didn't really matter anymore if it was kept a secret. Trish wanted to know who my first kiss was and-"

"I was your first kiss?" I chuckled, standing up and walking over to her.

She smiled. "Yeah."

I smiled too, re-running through that moment in that tree. She was my first kiss, too. But she'll NEVER know that!

"I just thought it would always be our secret. Ours," I sighed, thinking I sounded silly.

Ally looked like she regretted telling for a second. "I'm sorry, Austin. Trish won't tell anyone, I promise......but-uh-one thing, why are you so scared of people knowing? Are you ashamed of kissing me? If you are, I totally get it-"

"Ally, I'm not ashamed of you at all. You've got it all wrong. It's just, that kiss meant a lot to me, and I wanted it to be between us," I admitted, feeling my face burn.

She looked touched by my words. "Austin, that's so sweet," she swooned, meeting my eyes.

I laughed nervously, waiting for her to look away, searching her face for any sign of emotion. She looked like she was doing the same thing to me. My heart rate sped up x10.

She took a step towards me, her smile slowly fading. I got lost in her eyes, and did the unthinkable.
