Ally's POV:

I walked into the gym feeling beautiful for the first time in a while. A lot of guys were doing the same thing Austin had done earlier. I wasn't used to the attention at all! It made me feel strange.

Finally it was 10:00. Time to party! I came across Trish and we talked for awhile.

People were starting to flood the dance floor. A slow song would come on every now and then, but mostly I just stood in the back and watched.

"Can I have this dance?" Dez asked me holding out his hand about half-way through the night.

I excepted, We went out onto the floor and I danced like Austin had taught me. But I wasn't dancing with Dallas, who i had pictured dancing with. And Dez wasn't in sync with the music at all.

I looked around, noticing Dallas dancing with Allyson. They were pretty good friends...what if they're dating?

Then I saw Cassidy and Austin. He spun her and she noticed me. She gave me this look, it wasn't exactly a glare, it was more of an 'I won' kind of look.

I wasn't competing with her or anything, but it just made my night worse.

I didn't feel like dancing anymore after that, so I continued to stand in the back of the room by myself.

Austin's POV:

I danced with Cassidy awhile, but I wanted another dance partner. She talked too much when I was trying to enjoy the music.

Plus, earlier she tried to kiss me and i had to find a way to dodge it because for some reason, i didnt want to. When the song ended it was my chance to escape.

I searched the room for anyone, and my eyes stopped on Ally.

She was by herself. I excused myself from Cassidy and ran over to her. She seemed surprised to see me.

"Hey."

"Austin, hi," she forced a smile.

"I was wondering if maybe you'd wanna....dance?"

"Uh, sure!" she agreed. The new song started and to my surprise it was 'Can I Have This Dance' from HSM 3. This was Allys favorite song from the whole series.

She smiled excitedly. "I LOVE this song!"

"I know," i chuckled as we walked out to the dance floor.

Ally was mouthing the words sillily as we stepped and spun and twirled. I was amazed. She's amazing.

I noticed Cassidy standing off to the side looking kind of upset. What ever. A guy can't dance wih his best friend?

I started mouthing some of the words because well, everyone knows them, am I right?

Ally was actually dancing gracefully. I didn't know it was possible. We were in a perfect rhythm and nothing went wrong. She didn't even step on my foot.

At the end of the song, Ally hugged me.

"Thank you, Austin."

"What did I do?" I asked, confused.

"You made my night a little bit better," she said sweetly.

"Oh, no problem," I smiled, rubbing the back of my neck and watching her walk away.

"Hey, I'm here you know," Cassidy reminded, a little pang of jealousy in her voice.

Omg every single time a write a scene with Austin and Ally dancing I get major feels. So sorry if I do that a lot.(: oh and btw guys you're all asking me to write longer chapters but the thing is; it's either long chapters and updating like once a week or short chapters and updating everyday... So... Oh and also, please don't expect me to update every 10 hours. I have a life... And I start back to school in 5 days. Thanks so much!
