Austin's POV:

"So what have you been up to lately, Austin?" Mrs. Dawson asked me, as I took a seat by Ally at the table.

"Not too much. Ally's taught me how to play some piano," I smiled, nudging her.

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Yeah, he's a quick learner!"

Mrs. Dawson looked at us with adoring eyes. "I'm glad you two haven't started to act like siblings at each other's throats. My goodness!"

"No, not at all. We're good friends," I assured her.

I hung on every word Ally said for the rest of our time there. She's so pretty.

Ally's POV:

I sat on the porch swing with my mom after breakfast.

"Soooo, why don't you tell me more about the budding romance between you and Austin," my mom suggested.

"Whaaaaat?" I awkwardly questioned, shifting positions uncomfortably.

She gave me a knowing look. I sighed.

"Oh, it was so obvious, the way he looked at you like you were the only girl in the world this morning."

I blushed. "He did NOT."

She put a hand on my shoulder. "If you end up with any guy, i'd be happiest if it was Austin. He really does care about you, and he's an honorable young man."

"Mom," I warned,"it doesn't work like that. I do know he's a great guy, that's why he's me best friend. Now if you'd please stop bringing up awkward things related to him that would be great."

She through her hands up in surrender. "Ok, ok, I'm sorry. It was just a thought me and your dad discussed."

"You discussed it with Dad? Mom!" I said standing up.

I don't know why I'm so mad. I do like Austin, and want to be with him a little bit of a lot. But I don't want my mom saying she approves because then, it leaves me less excuses to not go through with it. I don't know what I want, ok?

I stormed into the house and up the stairs, passing Austin.

I felt his eyes on me as I walked into my room and shut my door.

There were two knocks seconds later.

"What?" I snapped rudely.

"Do you wanna talk?" Austin asked, his voice muffled coming from the other side of the door.

"No."

"...ok," I heard him mumble, before hearing his footsteps fade away.
