I stared at Walter unable to speak a single word.
He's the only ghost.....
He continued to gaze at me sadly as he nodded, "I'm alone in the world of the living as the only one that's dead."
For some reason his story made my heart ache to comfort him. Maybe it was the fact I that while I felt alone, he was truly alone.
Before I could think of a response for him I saw the bus pulling up around the corner, heading this way.
I could see Walter put a small smile on his face, "Don't worry about it, okay?"
The bus then stopped in front of me before the doors slowly opened. I didn't hesitate to walk into the bus.
Inside was the buses normal chatter and no one even noticed that I had come on.
I started making my way toward the second seat from the bus driver which was always empty. Everyone thought our bus driver was a sour old man who hated his job.
While most of that was true, as long as you didn't bug him he didn't yell at you
I quickly sat down as the bus started to roll again.
I then turned and I could see Walker sit beside me, even though I could tell he was still floating.
"No one can see or hear me alright?" Walker said looking towards me before looking back around the bus.
I nodded softly making sure no one saw me.
I reclined back in the seat, letting off a soft sigh.
Any second now.....
"Audrey dear, why don't you come sit with me?" I could hear the mocking voice of Taylor, right on time as usual.
I ignored her as I always did and kept my eyes on the front window.
She didn't comment again as we then arrived at the school. I quickly made my way to get off, not caring that I accidentally passed through Walker.
"Audrey, wait up!" Walter called as he quickly ran up next to me, or floated. Whatever you wanted to call it.
People passed me by as I slowed down my walk.
I glanced in Walkers direction, trying to tell him I couldn't talk right now.
He gazed back at me then slowly nodded, "Sorry, I forgot that it would be weird to be talking to nothing."
"You don't have to follow me," I muttered softly to him.
"I don't know about that," he grinned softly, "My gut is telling me something important is going to happen with you."
I shook my head softly as I entered the school building, heading toward my locker.
Nothing important to you will happen with me Walker.
I soon stopped at my locker, my hair falling in long waves to shield my face. I turned my combination and the door quickly opened.
My locker was bare, only having the supplies I needed for school.
I quickly grabbed them and shut my door silently, heading for my class without hesitation.
"Slow down.." Walker hissed softly as he passed through lots of people as I had to push past them.
I ignored him and stumbled into my class. As always I was around the first person to arrive. The only other kid here was the geek of the class,
Alex Mormon, who was a total gamer in every way, shape and form.
