"And that's a little about myself"
Over the course of the last five minutes, Walker had been explaining to Link how he doesn't remember how he died and how he didn't remember anything about when he was still alive. He also explained how he can choose who can see him and who can't.
"That's so cool, I really had no idea that you were actually friends with a real ghost Audrey," Link smiled at us as we were sitting at our table, completing the bell-work because our teacher had come in a few minutes ago. He scribbled the answers to the questions quickly, putting his pencil down on the table once he was done, "I just have one question though. How did you two guys first meet?"
Walker looked at me, raising his eyebrows.
I knew what he was thinking. He didn't want to say anything about how I was about to commit suicide the day we met.
I let out a small huff, turning towards Link to answer his question, "I met him almost a month ago walking home from school one day. I saw him and simply went up to him, I guess I just peaked his interest because he let me see him."
The lie slipped easily and Link nodded his head, believing every word. He placed a hand under his chin, seeming to think for a little bit before a worried expression appeared on his face, "Does that mean you were there with Audrey this whole time the past month?"
I raised my eyebrows questioningly.
What does that have to do with anything?
I didn't understand what Link was meaning with that question but apparently Walker knew exactly what he meant. He smirked at Link, nodding his head, "Yep, I was there the whole time kiddo."
Link huffed, a frown forming on his face, "I see." Link picked up his pencil once more, skillfully twisting it around on his fingertips. It spun smoothly over his thumb and his pointer finger before returning it to his grip once more.
Walker only smiled innocently at him.
I raised my eyebrows in confusion.
Both Link and Walker shook their heads, "It's nothing Audrey." Link gave me a soft smile. He then looked toward the front of the classroom where the teacher was standing in front of a podium.
He let out a sigh, stroking his beard before he cleared his throat, "Alright class, let's settle down for a few minutes okay?"
There was still a bit of chatter, but for the most part most of the class settled down like he asked.
"Alright, it's time for the yearly projects that I give you that are due at the end of the year. I'm sure you've heard from upper class-men that I grade these strictly and that they take a lot of hard work and effort to get a good grade," He placed his arms on top of the podium, "This year I have decided that instead of two people per project that I was requiring three people to work together for this assignment."
A few of our classmates let out excited chatter, but I simply rolled my eyes.
I preferred to work alone on projects, so if I got a low grade it was because of me and me alone.
"And another thing that I've decided to do this year that I haven't done before is let you students pick the other two people that you wish to work with. So I want you to pair up in your groups while I have my Teacher Aid pass out your assignment."
As soon as our teacher said those words, the students burst from their chairs, rushing over to grab their friends and pair up with them.
I didn't move from my seat and silently watched as everyone else chattered loudly, almost together sounding like a roar.
