"Miles, what the hell are you doing?"
I jumped at the loudness of the person's voice and felt Miles slowly lean away from me, putting his hands in his pockets, a scowl returning to his face.
I looked towards the front of the classroom and saw Link standing there, a black backpack thrown over one shoulder and one hand clenched at his side. He didn't look happy at all, in fact he had a deep scowl across his face, his hazel eyes narrowed.
He began walking towards us as Miles responded to his question, "I'm giving Audrey some advice, do you have a problem with that Lincoln?"
I backed up until I was sitting at my seat once more, Walker sitting on my desk. He looked down at me worriedly before returning his gaze to Link and Miles.
Link sighed, placing his bag on the ground below the desk. He then cracked his knuckles, shaking out his hands after he was done, "I have a problem because you're scaring her Miles."
Miles began to chuckle, looking in my direction. His eyes glinted darkly before he looked back at Link, "I'm sorry Lincoln, I just have that effect on people. Most people tend to be scared of me."
Link walked closer to Miles, putting a hand on his shoulder before leaning close to him, whispering something that I couldn't make out. I could tell that whatever Link was saying though, it didn't make Miles happy.
Miles scowl deepened and his expression got angrier as he suddenly pushed past Link and walked back to his desk, collapsing into his seat with a huff. He didn't look back towards us, he only opened up his book and began to read again.
I watched Link as he sat down in his seat beside me, sighing deeply before turning to me and smiling, "Sorry about Miles."
"What did you say to him?" I asked, ignoring his statement.
Link glanced at Miles before looking back at me, putting his elbows on the desk, "I told him that if he kept messing with you that I would bring up something that he did in his past and tell the whole school."
I looked away from Link, looking up to Walker. He was still sitting on my desk, sitting with his legs crossed. He was looking at Miles, worry in his features. He didn't seem to mad anymore since his normal white outline was around him instead of his black one but I found it odd that he was looking concerned in Miles direction.
What's going through his head?
"Hey Audrey? Can I ask you a question?"
I turned back to Link to see him laying his head on his arms, looking at me with his emotionless expression. He blinked slowly, the brown in his hazel eyes showing more than the green, "What do you keep looking at? I've noticed over the past few weeks that you always glance beside you, like there's something there."
I felt my blood run cold.
Link's really observant. I didn't give him enough credit. Damn....
I averted my gaze from Link before responding, "I don't know what you're talking about Link..."
Link smirked, amusement filling his eyes, "Yes you do, you just aren't telling me." He then stood up, walking in front of me on the other side of the desk, directly in front of Walker. My eyes widened as I looked at Link through Walker's body.
I saw Walker's whole body tense up and he put his hands on his knees, watching Link who was in front of him. He seemed nervous and I wouldn't blame him, I was getting nervous too. We didn't need everyone finding out about Walker's existence.
"You looked again," Link said, looking straight at me, "And from where you're looking it's right in front of me." Link slowly began to reach his hand out, getting closer and closer to Walker. Walker looked between the two of us, trying to back up, but he wouldn't be able to go far without passing through me.
Link paused, staring at me, the cold blank expression returning to his face, "What is on this table Audrey that you're so scared to tell me about, because your gaze isn't on me, it's on something in front of you." He said slowly and quietly.
I was trapped in a corner.
Link is too smart for me to try to talk my way out of this but he'd think I'm crazy if I told him the truth.
He kept gazing at me, waiting for a response that I didn't know how to give.
I watched him as he went back to reaching his hand out, his eyes remaining on mine, not looking away for a second.
From the front of the classroom I saw Miles with a lollipop in his mouth, smirking in my direction. It was almost like he was laughing at me.
What are you going to do now huh Audrey?
I could hear him taunting me.
I then looked back at Walker who was looking back at me. As our gazes crossed, he gave me a sad smile before facing Link again, who was an inch away from passing through Walker's chest.
"Audrey, I'm going to let him see me okay? That way he won't think your crazy."
I watched as Link suddenly stumbled back, drawing his hand with him, clutching it to his chest. His eyes were wide as he stared at me, no he could definitely see Walker now.
Walker smiled, hopping off the desk, he held his hands up, showing that he didn't mean any harm, "Hey Link, don't be alarmed. I can't hurt you." He watched Link as he slowly let his hands fall back to his side, "My name is Walker, and I'm a ghost that hangs out with Audrey. I hope you don't freak out like the last person I revealed myself to."
"Tyler..." Link said softly and Walker nodded.
Suddenly Link's face lit up in the brightest smile that I had ever seen on his face, "This is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life!"
