It's a question which I suspect many of you have been dying to ask
How did I get into writing
What inspired me to begin this poetic journey
Well, the word that is most appropriate is who
But fear not, I'm going to solve the mystery for you
So here's the truth
The fact is that my time as a writer began with a little help from my friend
To whom I will forever be in great debt
I have to say thank you to you Holly
It wasn't just your poetry that inspired me
For a long time, I have also been in awe of your personality
Moreover, you gave me a reason to believe
The key to unlock an unknown talent hidden deep within me
Because of you, I discovered a new method of personal release
A perfectly unique form of therapy
I've learned that a piece of paper is a wondrous thing
It may not be worth as much as a shiny diamond ring
But it proves to be a highly effective weapon when dealing with conflict
And battling personal sins
Paper will never have the capacity to judge
It won't break the hearts of those you love
It will never doubt you, question you
Or decide that you're not good enough
A solid, dependable rock that you will always be able to trust
A sheet will always reassure and understand
As long as you have a writing implement to guide your hand
An expert in impartiality, it will never pick a side
There as a companion to help you ride out the storm
And find the light
It will accept varying levels of pain
But it will never apportion any blame
It will always give you a second chance
If you make a mistake
The opinion it holds of you will never change
Paper will not fly into a burning rage
Abandon you when you're in need or walk away
Because paper, each piece and every sheet
Is a fresh start and a new chapter
Your journey begins with a blank page
