Damaged...But Not Broken

Slumber Party

On Monday morning Jessica tried to hide her morning sickness from Danny. He almost canceled his flight but Jessica told him she was fine and not to worry about anything.
"Danny, really I'm fine! Sarah and Lily planned a week long slumber party so I won't be alone this week. And yes I'm going to miss you like crazy! But I don't want you to miss this opportunity."
"Fine." Danny said defeated. "I'll fly home on the weekends if we aren't filming."
Jessica strokes his cheek with her hand, "Okay Hun. I love you."
"I love you too." He kisses Jessica and leaves for the airport.

Later that night Sarah and Lily arrive. She hadn't told them about the baby yet. They bring lots of food, snacks and movies. Jessica stares at the food and she worries about being sick while Sarah and Lily are here. She didn't want to ruin their night.
"This is going to be fun!" Sarah says excitedly
"I'm going to change into my pajamas! Be right back!"
"Me too!" says Lily.
They head to the bathroom together with their duffle bag and Jessica sits on the sofa and sips her ginger ale. She puts her hand on her belly and realizes how firm it is. "Why didn't I notice before? All these changes to my body. This pregnancy is so different from my first. I had no morning sickness. Oh gosh how I wish for that." Jessica thinks to herself. "Hmmm...why are those two taking so long?"
Just then she hears very faintly, "Oh Lily!"
Jessica laughs out loud. "Oh!"
The bathroom door opens and Sarah and Lily walk back to the living room holding hands.
"Did you two get lost in there?" Jessica says with a smirk.
"Oh, we were..." Sarah blushes.
"Lost in each other?" Teases Jessica with a raised eyebrow.
"Yikes! Please tell me you didn't hear anything?" asks Lily.
"Okay, I didn't hear anything!" Jessica laughs.
"Sorry Jess!" says Sarah.
"It's fine!"
They get settle on the sofa and Sarah says, "So, what movie do you all want to see first?" Sarah picks up four DVDs she brought. "There's The Craft, Girl, Interrupted,  Rent and Mamma Mia."
"Jess, you pick!" says Lily.
"Oh okay, um...lets watch Girl, Interrupted first, then Rent and after that The Craft. If we have time then we'll watch Mamma Mia to finish off our night." Jessica said and decides to wait till after Girl, Interrupted to tell them the news.
"Awesome!" says Sarah.
"Great! I'll go make some popcorn!" says Lily and walks to the kitchen.
Jessica hears the popcorn popping. The smell of the popcorn begins to makes its way to the living room.
"Oh god no!" Jessica begins to feel queasy and begins to breath in and out hoping it'll pass.
Lily brings the popcorn in bowl so they could all share. Jessica smells the popcorn.
"Jess? Are you okay?" asks Sarah with concern in her voice. "You look pale!"
Jessica can't take it and runs to the bathroom.
"Jess!" Sarah follows Jessica.
Sarah stands outside the door and hears Jessica throwing up. After a few minutes Jessica finally stops vomiting. Sarah hears the toilet flush.
"Jess? Are you okay?" asks Sarah "Can I come in?"
Jessica rinses her mouth out and reaches for her tooth brush to brush her teeth. "Come in."
Sarah enters and waits for Jessica to finish brushing.
Jessica slowly turns towards Sarah, "Sorry, I..."
"I thought you over that stomach bug?! Didn't you go see a doctor on Friday?"
Jessica takes a deep breath, "I'm going to tell you something but I want to wait till we get back. I want to tell Lily too." Jessica looks down feeling embarrassed. "Can you do me a favor though?"
"Sure, anything!"
"Can you take the popcorn to the kitchen and try to get the smell out as much as you can? I don't want to risk getting sick again."
"Okay Jess, I'll be back."
Sarah leaves and Jessica thinks to herself, "Why do they call this morning sickness when you get sick at random times of the day!?"
"The popcorn and smell are gone!" Sarah said
They both go back to the living room and join Lily.
"I'm sorry Lily!"
"It's okay Jess!"
"So, what did the doctor tell you?" Sarah asked her voice filled with worry.
"Well, I don't have a stomach bug." Jessica smiles. "I guess you can say I have a little love bug."
Sarah and Lily look at Jessica in confusion.
"Jess, what the hell are you talking about!?" Sarah says.
Jessica laughs, "I'm...pregnant!"
"Oh my god! Really?" Sarah says. She walks over to Jessica and gives her a hug. "Awe! Congratulations!!!"
"Congratulations Jess!" says Lily. "How does Danny feel?"
"Oh he's beyond excited!"
Sarah begins to tear up, "I'm so happy for you both!"
"Awe Sarah!" Jessica says giving Sarah another hug. "So, would you all like to see my little love bug?"
"YES!" Sarah and Lily exclaimed.
Jessica reaches for her purse and pulls out her ultrasound photo of the baby. Sarah and Lily look at the picture. "Omg! It's so tiny!"says Sarah.
"How far are you? When's your due date?!" ask Lily.
"I'm about 8 weeks, and my due date is May 10. But the doctor said that a due date is just an estimation. So some time in May." A thought suddenly occurs to Jessica. "Oh gosh, the wedding! I'll be about 6 months pregnant! I'm going to look huge in a wedding dress!"
"No you're not! You're going to look beautiful." Sarah tells her.
After a while they finally settle down and Jessica begins to feel hungry. She gets an apple, some saltine crackers and water while Lily and Sarah eat popcorn and they begin the first movie.
