Madi POV

I woke up today before my alarm seeing how I was too excited to go shopping today. I got dressed in my Breakfast Club shirt with red pants and grabbed my wallet. Today was my 21st birthday and my friends Luke and Ruby offered to take me out of town for this "special occasion". I didn't see the big deal but hey free food so I'm not complaining.

They said we would go to a mall in a city 3 towns over and head to Taco Bell on the way there and something about a surprise for me. I feel like it's a cat cause they know I love cats. Who cares though because I'm still thankful that they wanted to celebrate with me.

They were going to pick me up at 11 so I had half an hour of free time. I scrolled through twitter and saw Brian from PVRIS had tweeted something that grabbed my attention

If anyone knows where lynn went please tell me or alex

This worried me but I soon looked that he had posted 4 hours later after the original tweet said they found her. I was surprised to see these tweets was 5 days ago, how could I have not seen this?
I decided to check Lynn's social media accounts and saw that she posted nothing. I wonder if she's okay ,but I doubt she would care what I think. She doesn't even know I exist.

Phone call from Ruby

I swiped right on the answer slider to answer her call

Ruby: Hey bitch we're on your street so grab your shit

Me: Well alrighty then

I heard Luke laughing in the background before I hung up and grabbed my wallet and phone. I went downstairs and locked my door with my key in my wallet like always.
Beep beep
"Beep beep motherfucker get in!"
I take it Ruby's as pumped about this trip as ever. I slid in the backseat with her while Luke stayed up front making really bad jokes about people's driving skills. Like he was better. He wrecked his mom's car 3 weeks ago picking up his little sister when he went to visit his family.
When the car ride got really boring Ruby and I took a nap in the backseat together. She fell asleep first so then I could figure out where to lay.

I propped my head on her lap since she was sleeping while sitting up. And fell sound asleep to Twenty-One Pilots that was on the radio.

2 hours later

I woke up to Ruby poking my cheek with a huge grin on her face looking down at me. My neck ached and the side of my face stung a little after lifting it off Ruby's bare legs since she was wearing short-shorts. It was a nice summer's day after getting out of the car into the sun. It was hot out but had a breeze that kept it cool enough to not die of heat-stroke.

"You excited?" Ruby asked. "Of course. What about you Luke?" I looked over at Luke to already see him staring at me as usual. He was probably looking at the side of my face ,red from it laying on Ruby so long. "Yup!" He gave a cheeky grin and began to walk with us into the mall saying how we'll get lunch here since we didn't get Taco Bell.

After getting lunch at some random food court place we headed into Hot Topic and scouted out shirts they had. I had over 1000$ since I never really spent my old birthday money from all the other birthdays. "Hey lesbean. What about the girl with the gauges and red hair?" Ruby quirked an eyebrow at me waiting for my rate. I looked the woman up and down discretely and came to an answer in second.

"I'd say not my type. Her gauges are way too big and she obviously has no clue how to dye her hair. Horrible dye job." I saw Ruby out if the corner of my eye nodding her head in approval of my opinion thinking the same things. You can say this is shallow all you want but Ruby and I do this more than you think. Ruby hates that I'm single and live by myself and keeps trying to find me someone. She's bisexual so she makes it more easier because she's not as uncomfortable about it I guess.

After what felt like hours of shopping  I finally got what I was looking for which was a black sweatshirt with big letters PVRIS right in the middle. It was large and baggy but comfy none the less. Ruby nearly bought out the whole store while Luke just got 6 shirts and 3 pants along with a beanie.

You can already see the many differences in Ruby and Luke I bet. Luke is plain and quiet but he's pretty sweet just not my type for obvious reasons plus I like someone with a little bit more of a happy attitude. He's more of the "silently happy so you'll think I'm mad" type of people.
Ruby is more outgoing and louder but a good friend still. She has a colorful personality and says what she thinks.

"Sooooo Madi what did you think of today?" Ruby asked sound too innocent to be it. "It was fun, I hope you guys had fun also." I smiled at them both when Ruby then looked over at Luke with excitement and a mischievous look on her face. "Well we got one more surprise for you." She rummaged in her pockets until she looked over at Luke while I raised an eyebrow at them. Luke pulled out 3 slips of rectangular paper and he handed me one with a smile on his face.

I squinted down at the paper since the light was hitting the paper. When a cloud covered the sun for a moment I read the paper and nearly fainted. I threw my bags in the already open trunk quickly and ran at Ruby and gave her a huge hug and thanked them both. They were Warped Tour tickets for the next show they would be playing in California.
"It was Luke's idea." Ruby said nodding her head over to Luke who was smiling at my display of happiness and gratitude.

I ran over to him and jumped into his arms and thanked him ,god knows how many times. "You guys are the best."
"We know. Now get in the car." Ruby said and ushered everyone in the car to get back home. Ruby handed me a wine bottle for a present since I was now of legal age and handed me a book full of photos of all 3 of us through the years. It was from both of them, they are so amazing. When we finally got home it was 8 at night and the sun was going down which meant time to get ready to sleep.

I was exhausted from today but was also glad. I said farewell to them both and carried everything into the house. I folded all the clothes and put them away and grabbed some PJ's. After putting the wine bottle in the fridge and the scrapbook beside my bed on the dresser I got into my baggy PVRIS sweatshirt and Harry Potter Hogwarts sweatpants to sleep in. I put the Warped Tour ticket in my wallet and locked my door.

I couldn't believe it. 2 days until finally going to the place I've always dreamed of. I never thought I would ever end up going. I laid in bed and scrolled through my phone, my eyes dropping a little everytime due to exhaustion. I checked Lynn's accounts before going to sleep and seeing she posted about a photo of a tree in black and white with broken limbs. No leaves or any sign of life from the tree. I really do hope she's okay but maybe she is. She normally posts photos like aesthetics or something like that. I liked her photo and turned off my phone drifting to sleep.
